Gustaf Rydberg
Gustaf Fredrik Rydberg (13 September 1835 – 11 October 1933) was a Swedish landscape painter. Biography Gustaf Fredrik Rydberg was born at Malmö, Sweden. His father, Gustaf Isak Rydberg, was the local postmaster. From 1852 to 1855, he was a student of the landscape painter, Frederik Christian Kiærskou, at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, then continued at the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts where he studied under Edward Bergh. In 1859, as many Swedes did, he went to Düsseldorf to complete his studies. His first instructor was the Norwegian landscape painter, Hans Fredrik Gude, followed by Oswald Achenbach. He spent five years there, visiting Skåne in the summers, which would remain one of his favorite places to sketch and paint. After returning to Sweden, in 1866, he was named a member candidate (''agré'') at the Royal Academy and had his first exhibition. Västerås ( , , ) is a city in central Sweden on the shore of Mälaren, Lake Mälaren in the province of Västmanland, west of Stockholm. Project Runeberg
Project Runeberg ( sv, Projekt Runeberg) is a digital cultural archive initiative that publishes free electronic versions of books significant to the culture and history of the Nordic countries. Patterned after Project Gutenberg, it was founded by Lars Aronsson and colleagues at Linköping University and began archiving Nordic-language literature in December 1992. As of 2015 it had accomplished digitization to provide graphical facsimiles of old works such as the '' Nordisk familjebok'', and had accomplished, in whole or in part, the text extractions and copyediting of these as well as esteemed Latin works and English translations from Nordic authors, and sheet music and other texts of cultural interest. ''Nordisk familjebok'' (, "Nordic Family Book") is a Swedish encyclopedia that was published in print from between 1876 and 1993, and that is now fully available in digital form via Project Runeberg at Linköping University. Despite their considerable age and relative obsolescence, the public domain editions of the encyclopedia remain important reference works in Finland, especially on Finnish Wikipedia. History First edition ''Nordisk familjebok'' began when Halmstad publisher hired an editor, linguist , in 1874 to publish a six-volume encyclopedia. Linder drew up a plan for the work, designed the editorial team and created a large circle of experts and literary figures, who submitted article proposals and wrote and reviewed them. Nationalmuseum (or National Museum of Fine Arts) is the national gallery of Sweden, located on the peninsula Blasieholmen in central Stockholm. Alfred Wahlberg
Herman Alfred Leonard Wahlberg (13 February 1834 – 4 October 1906) was a Swedish landscape painter. Early life Alfred Wahlberg was born in Stockholm, Sweden. His father was a painter and his mother worked with carving. Wahlberg learned his father's profession as a child, but became a student at Royal Swedish Academy of Music after showing precocious musical talent. He studied piano and clarinet at the academy. After finishing his studies, Wahlberg joined the orchestra Göta gardes musikkår, and earned money (25–50 öre per hour) by giving piano lessons. He received preparatory education at the Royal Swedish Academy of Arts at the same time, although he never became a real student there.
