Gustaaf Martinus Oosterling
Gustaaf Martinus Oosterling (30 June 1873 – 11 January 1928) was a Surinamese photographer, who had a photo studio on the Gonggrijpstraat in Paramaribo. Before turning to photography, Oosterling worked as a draughtsman, calligrapher and painter. Together with Augusta Curiel, Karl Friedrich Ludwig Eugen Klein, , W. Amo and , he is considered a pioneer of photography in Suriname. Biography Gustaaf Martinus Oosterling was born on 30 June 1873 in Paramaribo to Salomon Jacob Oosterling (1841–1885) and Nanette Louisa Sophia Bosfaeld (1839–1878). His grandfather Cornelis Oosterling (1813–1858) was originally from Groede in Zeeland and migrated to Suriname in the early 19th century. Oosterling died on 11 January 1928 at age 54. Gustav Reinier Uhlenbeek (born 20 August 1970) is a Dutch former footballer. He was born in Paramaribo in the former Dutch colony Suriname, but grew up in Amsterdam. Uhlenbeek spent more than a decade in English football, and was released by Halifax Town at the end of the 2006–07 season. Career Uhlenbeek plays on the right side of midfield, or as a right-back. He began his career at Ajax, but only played twice for the first team and left the club in 1992. He later played first division football for Cambuur Leeuwarden and TOP Oss, before joining English side Ipswich in 1995. In his first two seasons at Portman Road, Uhlenbeek was a regular, but he lost his place in the team, and joined Fulham in 1998. Gustaaf Segers (29 December 1848 – 3 April 1930) was a Flemish writer, Dutch and German teacher and Vondel scholar. Biography He graduated from the state normal school in Lier as a teacher. He received his first appointment in 1868 in the municipal education of Leuven. In 1873 a story by Segers was published in ''De Vlaamsche Kunstbode''. In 1875 he became a teacher in Antwerp, and in 1879 he became a teacher of Dutch language and literature and of German language at the normal school in Lier. His debut ''Dorpsgeschiedenissen'' was also published that year. A second collection of short stories, ''In de Kempen'' followed in 1882. During his career Segers published several essays on Joost van den Vondel, the first in 1887. In total, he produced about thirty texts about this writer, his life and his work. Gustave Charles Sap (21 January 1886 – 19 March 1940) was a Belgium, Belgian politician and minister for the Catholic Party (Belgium), Catholic Party. Sap was also professor at the Catholic University of Leuven (1834–1968), Catholic University of Leuven (Leuven, Belgium). During his professional career, he was active in the Flemish movement, agriculture and business.
