Gurvinder Singh (born 12 June 1983) is an Indian cricketer. He made his first-class debut for Himachal Pradesh in the 2010–11 Ranji Trophy on 24 November 2010. He was the leading wicket-taker for Himachal Pradesh in the 2017–18 Ranji Trophy The 2017–18 Ranji Trophy was the 84th season of the Ranji Trophy, the premier first-class cricket tournament that took place in India between October 2017 and January 2018. Sirmaur District
Sirmaur is the southernmost district of Himachal Pradesh, northern India. It is largely mountainous and rural, with 90% of its population living in villages. Some of its towns include the capital Nahan, Tuheri, Bhawan, Shamra, UchaTikker and Suketi, the latter known for Shivalik Fossil Park. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. First-class cricket, along with List A cricket and Twenty20 cricket, is one of the highest-standard forms of cricket. A first-class match is one of three or more days' scheduled duration between two sides of eleven players each and is officially adjudged to be worthy of the status by virtue of the standard of the competing teams. Himachal Pradesh Cricket Team
The Himachal Pradesh cricket team is a domestic cricket team based in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. It has competed in the Ranji Trophy since the 1985–86 season. They have won their first ever domestic trophy, by winning the 2021–22 edition of Vijay Hazare Trophy. Playing history Himachal Pradesh lost all five of their matches in both 1985–86 and 1987–88 seasons by an innings. They won for the first time when they beat Services by one wicket in 1990–91. In 2006–07 Himachal Pradesh won the Plate Group of the Ranji Trophy, beating Orissa in the final after finishing top of their group. 2010–11 Ranji Trophy
The 2010–11 Ranji Trophy season is the 77th Ranji trophy season. It is being contested through two leagues: Super and Plate. Each division is divided into 2 groups – A and B, each team plays all the other teams from its group only once either home or away. The Super League is divided into two groups of eight and seven teams, while the Plate League is divided into two groups of six teams each. In both divisions, the top two teams from each group advance to the knock-out phase. The finalists from the Plate League are promoted to the Super League the next year while the two teams at the bottom of the Super League are relegated. According to the new Ranji format which is being implemented from 2008 to 2009 season, the top two Plate teams join three teams each from the two groups in the Super League to play a knock-out from the quarter-final stage. 2017–18 Ranji Trophy
The 2017–18 Ranji Trophy was the 84th season of the Ranji Trophy, the premier first-class cricket tournament that took place in India between October 2017 and January 2018. Vidarbha won the tournament, beating Delhi by 9 wickets in the final, to win their first Ranji Trophy title. Vidarbha made their Ranji Trophy debut in the 1957–58 season, making it the third-longest wait before a team won their maiden title. Vidarbha's captain, Faiz Fazal, said that "winning the Ranji Trophy has been the biggest achievement in my career". The previous season was played at neutral venues.
