Guru Gobind Singh Sports College, Lucknow is a residential sports college in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. Sports Colleges are senior secondary schools which promote sports alongside secondary education. United Kingdom Sports Colleges were introduced in 1997 as part of the Specialist schools programme, Specialist Schools Programme in the United Kingdom. The programme enabled Secondary education#England, Wales and Northern Ireland, secondary schools to Specialist school, specialise in certain fields, in this case, Physical education, PE, sports and dance. Danish Mujtaba
Danish Mujtaba (born 20 December 1988 in Allahabad) is an Indian professional field hockey player. He made his debut for the national team in 2009. He represented India during the 2012 Summer Olympics in London and the 2016 Olympics in Rio. He comes from a family of hockey players, including his grandfather Idris Ahmed, his uncle Atif Idris, his father Ghulam Mujtaba and his elder brother Hamza Mujtaba who have played for India. He first represented India at junior level, at the 2009 Junior World Cup. He played for the senior team at the 2010 World Cup and later went on to become Captain of national team in 2013. Narendra Hirwani
Narendra Deepchand Hirwani (born 18 October 1968) is a leg spin bowler who played for India. He is mainly remembered for his success on his Test debut. Early days Hirwani came from a well-off family in Gorakhpur. He belongs to the sindhi Hindu community and his father owned a brick factory. Hirwani moved to Indore in his teenage where he stayed in a room near the ground under the guidance of the Madhya Pradesh cricketer Sanjay Jagdale. Hirwani made his first class debut for Madhya Pradesh at the age of 16 and took five wickets on his debut. He did much better in the following seasons and took 23 wickets in an under-19 three Test series against Australia. His big break came for India U-25 against the touring West Indians in 1987–88.
