Gurdeep Samra (born 5 May 1983) (also known as G Samra) is a British Asian bhangra music producer and DJ from Bicester, England. Gurdeep was born in Oxford and is of Jatt descent. In 2002, Gurdeep released a collaboration with Panjabi folk music singer, Surinder Shinda. The song, "Jatt Panjab" became a minor radio favorite with specialist Asian music stations in the UK. The track caught the attention of Markie Mark who licensed the song for the compilation album ''Desi Beats Vol 1''. This album was released by the UK imprint of the music label Def Jam. Since this debut, Gurdeep has continued to release music independently. Gurdeep Roy (born Mohinder Purba; 1 December 1957), known professionally as Deep Roy, is a Kenyan-British actor, puppeteer, and stuntman. At tall, he has often been cast as diminutive characters, such as Teeny Weeny in ''The NeverEnding Story'' and the Oompa-Loompas in ''Charlie and the Chocolate Factory'', Keenser in ''Star Trek'', and subsequent films (" Kelvin Timeline"), and in television series such as ''The X-Files'', ''Doctor Who'', and '' Eastbound & Down''. Gurdeep Pandher is a Sikh-Canadian, Yukon-based author, teacher and performer, who makes Punjabi dance videos. Gurdeep was born into a farming family, in a small village in Siahar, Punjab. He moved to Canada in 2006 and became a Canadian citizen in 2011. Moving to Canada inspired him to tour the entire country and further understand his adopted nation. He has lived in numerous Canadian provinces, including small Canadian villages, but found his home in a wilderness cabin in Yukon. Gurdeep teaches diverse groups across Canada, building cross-cultural bridges and encouraging acceptance, inclusivity and positive race-relations.
