Guo Yi (musician)
Guo Yi (; born 1954) is a Chinese musician and master of the ancient free-reed '' Sheng''. He also plays the bamboo flute and Erhu. He has recorded for Peter Gabriel's Real World Records. He performs as the Guo Brothers with his sibling, Guo Yue. Background Guo Yi was born in a hutong in Beijing, China in 1954. He joined The Peking Film Orchestra as a Sheng player at the age of 15 where he was a highly respected composer and soloist for fifteen years. During this time his work was featured on over 200 films. Arriving in England in 1984, Guo Yi joined the WOMAD festival roster. He has toured all over the world, including live performances with Peter Gabriel in New York, Seattle and Boston. ''The Last Emperor'' ( it, L'ultimo imperatore) is a 1987 epic biographical drama film about the life of Puyi, the final Emperor of China. It is directed by Bernardo Bertolucci from a screenplay he co-wrote with Mark Peploe, which was adapted from Puyi's 1964 autobiography, and independently produced by Jeremy Thomas. AllMusic (previously known as All Music Guide and AMG) is an American online music database. It catalogs more than three million album entries and 30 million tracks, as well as information on musicians and bands. Abbey Road Studios (formerly EMI Recording Studios) is a recording studio at 3 Abbey Road, St John's Wood, City of Westminster, London, England. It was established in November 1931 by the Gramophone Company, a predecessor of British music company EMI, which owned it until Universal Music Group (UMG) took control of part of it in 2013. James Horner
James Roy Horner (August 14, 1953 – June 22, 2015) was an American composer. He was known for the integration of choral and electronic elements, and for his frequent use of motifs associated with Celtic music. ''Apocalypto'' () is a 2006 action adventure film produced, co-written, and directed by Mel Gibson. The film features a cast of Native American and Indigenous Mexican actors consisting of Rudy Youngblood, Raoul Trujillo, Mayra Sérbulo, Dalia Hernández, Gerardo Taracena, Rodolfo Palacios, Bernardo Ruiz Juarez, Ammel Rodrigo Mendoza, Ricardo Diaz Mendoza, and Israel Contreras.
