Guo Puxiao
Guo Puxiao (; born January 1964) is a general ('' Shangjiang'') of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) of China and the political commissar of the People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) since January 2022. He previously served as the political commissar of Logistic Support Department of the Central Military Commission from 2019 to 2022. Biography Guo was born in Yao County, Shaanxi, in January 1964 and entered into service in the PLA in 1981. He served in the PLA Air Force for a long time. In 2014 he became political commissar of the People's Liberation Army Air Force Airborne Corps. In 2017, he succeeded Liu Shaoliang as deputy political commissar of the Central Theater Command and political commissar of the Central Theater Command Air Force. In December 2019, he was appointed political commissar of the CMC Logistic Support Department, replacing Zhang Guoshu. The People's Liberation Army (PLA) is the principal military force of the People's Republic of China and the armed wing of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The PLA consists of five service branches: the Ground Force, Navy, Air Force, Rocket Force, and Strategic Support Force. Fan Xiaojun (; born 1956) is a general of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF). He had been Political Commissar of the Northern Theater Command since April 2017, and formerly served as Director of the Political Department of the PLAAF. Biography Fan Xiaojun was born in 1956 in Danyang, Jiangsu. He spent his early career in the Chengdu Military Region and the PLA General Political Department before transferring to the PLAAF. Lieutenant general (Lt Gen, LTG and similar) is a three-star military rank (NATO code OF-8) used in many countries. The rank traces its origins to the Middle Ages, where the title of lieutenant general was held by the second-in-command on the battlefield, who was normally subordinate to a captain general. In modern armies, lieutenant general normally ranks immediately below general and above major general; it is equivalent to the navy rank of vice admiral, and in air forces with a separate rank structure, it is equivalent to air marshal. The Central Theater Command () is one of the five theater commands of the People's Liberation Army of China, and was founded on 1 February 2016. Its predecessors were the Beijing Military Region and Jinan Military Region. People's Liberation Army Air Force Airborne Corps
The People's Liberation Army Air Force Airborne Corps () is an airborne corps under direct command of the People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF). It was reorganized and renamed from the 15th Airborne Corps in May 2017 and now comprises six airborne brigades and a special operations brigade. The PLAAF Airborne Corps is China's primary strategic airborne unit and part of the newly formed rapid reaction units (RRUs) of the Chinese military which is primarily designated for airborne and special operation missions. Its role is similar to that of the U.S. Army's XVIII Airborne Corps/82nd Airborne Division/101st Airborne Division and Russian Airborne Forces. The People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF; ), also known as the Chinese Air Force (中国空军) or the People's Air Force (人民空军), is an aerial service branch of the People's Liberation Army, the regular armed forces of the People's Republic of China.
