Gunnhildur Yrsa Jónsdóttir
Gunnhildur Yrsa Jónsdóttir (born 28 September 1988) is an Icelandic professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Stjarnan of the Besta deild kvenna and the Iceland national team. Early life Born in Garðabær, Iceland, Gunnhildur lived in Hartford, Connecticut and Philadelphia from 1996 to 2002 while her mother studied paediatrics. During a chance meeting with Philadelphia Charge and Iceland international Margrét Rannveig Ólafsdóttir in 2001, Margrét offered Gunnhildur tickets to the team's next WUSA game, inspiring her to take up football. Club career Stjarnan Upon returning to Iceland, Gunnhildur joined Úrvalsdeild side Stjarnan. She made her senior first-team debut on 20 May 2003 at the age of 14 years and 234 days as a 59th-minute substitute in a 4–0 league loss to ÍBV. Iceland Women's National Football Team
The Iceland women's national football team represents Iceland in international women's football. They are currently ranked as the 17th best women's national team in the world by FIFA as of December 2019. On 30 October 2008, the national team qualified to the 2009 UEFA Women's Championship, the first major football tournament Iceland ever took part in, having previously competed in the 1995 UEFA Women's Championship which was a home and away knockout competition. FC Zorky Krasnogorsk was a Russian women's football team from Krasnogorsk founded in 2006, competing in the Russian Championship. In 2012 it reached the national cup's final, lost to Zvezda Perm. Icelandic Women's Football Super Cup
The Icelandic Women's Super Cup (Icelandic: ''Meistarakeppni kvenna'') is an annual football game between the reigning champions of the Icelandic League (Úrvalsdeild) champions and the Icelandic Cup holders (or, if the same team holds both titles, between the title-holder and (usually) the team in second place in the Úrvalsdeild or occasionally the second placed team in the Icelandic Cup). It generally takes place at the start of the Iceland domestic season, in May and has been running uninterrupted since 2003 (when the holders of the 2002 titles met). Before that the competition was uninterrupted between 1992 and 1998. Title-holders from 1999, 2000 and 2001 did not play for this title. ÍBV Women's Football
The ÍBV women's football team is the women's football department of the ÍBV-íþróttafélag (English: ÍBV sports club) multi-sport club. It is based in Vestmannaeyjar, Iceland, and currently plays in the Úrvalsdeild kvenna, the top-tier women's football league in Iceland. The team plays it home games at the Hásteinsvöllur. ÍBV has won the Icelandic Cup twice, in 2004 and 2017.
