Gunnar Mueller
Folke Gunnar Mueller (born 5 January 1948) is a Swedish professional golfer, who formerly played on the European Tour and the Asian Golf Circuit. Early life and amateur career Mueller started playing golf in 1962, at 14 years of age, at Lund Academic Golf Club, after his family had moved from Tranemo to Malmö. Five years later, he owned the course record at Lund AGC. As an amateur, Mueller won the Swedish National Junior Championship and represented Sweden both on junior level and in the European Amateur Team Championship. Still an amateur in 1970, he finished 35th in a professional tournament, the Dutch Open. He won one of the three major amateur tournaments at the time in Sweden, the 1971 Scandinavian International Match Play Championship, beating Henry Knudsen, Denmark in the final 4 and 3. Italian Open (golf)
The DS Automobiles Italian Open ( it, Open d'Italia) is the men's national open golf championship of Italy. It was founded in 1925 and, except for 1933 and during World War II, was played annually until 1960. After an eleven-year hiatus, it returned in 1971 when it was one of five tournaments in Continental Europe that were included on the British PGA Order of Merit circuit. The following year of that circuit has since been recognised as the first official season of the European Tour, and the Italian Open is one of few tournaments that have featured on the schedule every year. Swedish Golf Tour
The Swedish Golf Tour (currently known as the MoreGolf Mastercard Tour for sponsorship reasons), is a developmental professional golf formerly operated by Svenska Golftourerna AB, owned equally by the Swedish Golf Federation and the PGA of Sweden, since 2018 operated by the Swedish Golf Federation. The tour is designed to help Swedish golfers to reach the standard of play needed to qualify for the European Tour or the Challenge Tour. The events on the SGT are included in the Nordic Golf League, which is one of four European Tour-recognised third-tier tours, and is run in collaboration by the national golf associations of Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden. The four third-level tours carry Official World Golf Ranking points. Each year, usually in October, a 2-stage qualifying school tournament is held, which gives players an opportunity to qualify for the SGT. The Swedish PGA Championship for men is a golf tournament played annually in Sweden since 1970. It has been an event on the Swedish Golf Tour schedule since 1984 and the Nordic Golf League since 1999. History From its beginning in 1970, it was a championship for members of the PGA of Sweden. Since 1986, the tournament has been open to foreign players. The tournament was part of the Challenge Tour from 1990 to 1996 and from 2001 to 2005. Hans Göran Hedjerson (born 3 November 1943) is a Swedish professional golfer, who was one of the best amateur players in Sweden in the 1960s and 1970s. Early life Hedjerson was born in a family with a lot of sport background. His father was the 1937, and very first, Swedish alpine skiing and slalom champion, Harald Hedjerson (1913–1966), who also competed in the 1936 Winter Olympics in nordic combined skiing.
