Gunnar Brynolf Wennerberg
Gunnar Brynolf Wennerberg (16 August 1823, Lidköping - 3 October 1894, Göteborg) was a Swedish painter of the Düsseldorf School and a major landowner. He specialized in animal paintings (mostly horses) and genre scenes. Biography His father, Gunnar Wennerberg den äldre (1782-1860), was a rural dean in Lidköping. His brother was the poet and composer, Gunnar Wennerberg. He developed an early interest in music and painting, but eventually decided to focus on the latter. His first studies were with Uno Troili in Stockholm. In 1850, he continued his studies in Copenhagen. When his brother was awarded a royal scholarship, he went to Germany with him as a study companion. Their first stop was Leipzig, where they attended concerts and visited museums. In Düsseldorf, he registered as a student at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, while his brother continued on to Italy. Gunnar Wennerberg
Gunnar Wennerberg (2 October 1817 – 24 August 1901) was a Swedish poet, composer and politician. Biography Wennerberg was the son of the vicar of the town of Lidköping in Västergötland, went to '' gymnasium'' in the cathedral town of Skara, and matriculated as a student at Uppsala University in 1837, where he studied natural sciences, Classical philology, Philosophy and Aesthetics. He received his filosofie magister degree in 1845 and became a docent of Aesthetics in 1846. Wennerberg was remarkable in several ways, handsome in face and tall in figure, with a finely trained singing voice, and brilliant in wit and conversation. From the outset of his career he was accepted in the inner circle of men of light and leading for which the university was at that time famous. Rudolf Wiegmann
Heinrich Ernst Gottfried Rudolf Wiegmann (17 April 1804, Nordstemmen – 17 April 1865, Düsseldorf) was a German painter, archaeologist, art historian, graphic artist and architect. He worked in the Classical style and, as a painter, is best known for his vedute. His wife, Marie Wiegmann, whom he married in 1841, was also a painter of some note. Sara Wennerberg-Reuter
Sara Wennerberg-Reuter (11 February 1875 – 29 March 1959) was a Swedish organist and composer. She was the niece of the composer Gunnar Wennerberg (1817-1901). Her father, Gunnar Brynolf Wennerberg, was an artist. Sara Wennerberg-Reuter received her early musical training in organ and harmony in Gothenburg and studied at the Stockholm Conservatory (1893-1895), graduating as an organist. She then studied in Leipzig (1896-1898) with Salomon Jadassohn and Carl Reinecke and continued her composition and counterpoint studies (1901-1902) with Max Bruch in Berlin. She was organist at the Sofia Church in Stockholm, from 1906 to 1945. Sara Wennerberg-Reuter’s compositions, and especially her male voice quartets, were performed frequently in their day. Brynolf Wennerberg
Gunnar Brynolf Wennerberg (12 August 1866, Otterstads Parish, Västergötland - 13 March 1950, Bad Aibling) was a Swedish-German painter and graphic designer. He is sometimes referred to as "The Younger", to distinguish him from his father of the same name. Biography He was born into a landed, aristocratic family. Emma Meissner, née ''Ekström'' (30 October 1866 in Karlstad – 20 November 1942 in Stockholm) was a Swedish people, Swedish soprano and actress. Arvid Mauritz Lindström (26 April 1849 – 11 December 1923) was a Swedish painter. Lindström is best known today for his atmospheric landscapes. Biography He was born in the parish of Björksta in Västmanland, Sweden. His parents were Per Fredrik Lindström and Hedvig Ringström. He studied at the Royal Swedish Academy of Arts in Stockholm in 1869–1872. He went to Munich and Paris to continue his studies. In 1877 Lindström became an apprentice (''agré'') at the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts and in 1886 he joined the Art Association.
