Gunnar Asgeir Sadolin
Gunnar Asgeir Sadolin (5 February 1874 – 17 March 1955) was a Danish businessman. Early life Sadolin was born in Valløby, the son of parish priest Ole Jørgen Sadolin (1826–1908) and Louise Suzette Emilie Marcussen (1838–1906). Sadolin passed the preliminary exams at the University of Copenhagen in 1890 and then worked for half a year in a mechanical workshop. He had aspirations to become an artist and therefore studied at Copenhagen Technical School, the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and Kristian Zahrtmann's art school in 1890–96. He was considered a promising student but temporary visual impairment led him into the theoretical and practical study of dyes. Burial finds in Egypt had recently brought attention to encaustic paintings, and this inspired him to conduct a series experiments successful with wax-based dyes. Herman Vedel
Herman Vedel (1 March 1875 – 1 December 1948) was a Danish painter. He was the leading Danish portraitist of his time. One of his most well-known works is ''Negotiating the 1915 Constitution'' which features prominently in Christiansborg Palace. Biography Herman Albert Gude Vedel was born in Copenhagen, Denmark. He attended the Copenhagen Technical College where he trained under Henrik Grønvold (1858–1940). He was educated at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts from 1894 to 1897. He earned his cand. phil. in 1893. He also attended the art school Kunstnernes Frie Studieskoler from 1896 to 1899. Lauritz Peter Holmblad
Lauritz Peter Holmblad (8 July 1815 – 16 November 1890), often referred to as L. P. Holmblad, was a Danish industrialist and philanthropist. His company, which was simply known as L. P. Holmblad, had activities in dyes, soap, glue and plating cards. Holmblad was also part of the circle around Carl Frederik Tietgen, co-founding several of his companies. Holmblad is associated with Amager, Copenhagen, where Holmbladsgade is named after him. Family background L. P. Holmblad was born into a family of industrialists on 8 July 1815. His great-grandfather, Jacob Holmblad, a Swedish dyer who emigrated to Denmark in about 1766, introduced new production methods at the Royal Textile Factory where he used ''Rubia'' plants to produce the red dye for the Royal Life Guards' gala uniforms.
