Gunashli Oil Field
Gunashli (Azerbaijani language, Azerbaijani: ''Günəşli'') is an offshore oil field in the Caspian Sea, located east of Baku, Azerbaijan, southeast of Oil Rocks and its deep water section is a part of the larger Azeri–Chirag–Gunashli (ACG) project. The Azerbaijani translation of ''Gunashli'' means ''"sunny"''. Gunashli is believed to have more than 100 million tonnes of oil reserves. Western shallow water section The portion of Gunashli field which is not in the scope of the ACG project lies in depth of water and developed by SOCAR, State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) while the deep-water section developed by BP within the ACG project is at . The field was explored in 1958–63. The first offshore platform was installed by 1976. Production in this section started in 1982. It consisted of 4 steel jackets for drilling of 10 wells. Nakhchivan Field
Nakhchivan field is an offshore oil and gas field in the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan. It is located south of Baku, at a depth of . The Nakhchivan deposit was discovered in 1960. It was prepared for drilling in 1994. In 1997, ExxonMobil and the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) signed a contract for the exploration of the field; however, this contract was later terminated due to the absence of significant reserves. Nabucco Pipeline
The Nabucco pipeline (also referred as Turkey–Austria gas pipeline) was a failed natural gas pipeline project from Erzurum, Turkey, to Baumgarten an der March, Austria to diversify natural gas suppliers and delivery routes for Europe. The pipeline was to lessen European dependence on Russian energy. The project was backed by several European Union states and the United States and was seen as a rival to the Gazprom-Eni South Stream pipeline project. The main supplier was to be Iraq with potential supplies from Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, and Egypt. The project was developed by a consortium of six companies. Preparations started in 2002 and the intergovernmental agreement among Turkey, Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary and Austria was signed on 13 July 2009. Baku–Novorossiysk Pipeline
The Baku–Novorossiysk pipeline (also known as the Northern Route Export Pipeline and Northern Early Oil Pipeline) is an long oil pipeline, which runs from the Sangachal Terminal near Baku to the Novorossiysk terminal at the Black Sea coast in Russia. The Azerbaijani section of the pipeline is operated by the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) and the Russian section is operated by Transneft. Baku–Supsa Pipeline
The Baku–Supsa Pipeline (also known as the Western Route Export Pipeline and Western Early Oil Pipeline) is an long oil pipeline, which runs from the Sangachal Terminal near Baku to the Supsa terminal in Georgia. It transports oil from the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli field. The pipeline is operated by BP. History The preparations for the pipeline's construction started in 1994. On 8 March 1996, President of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev and President of Georgia Eduard Shevardnadze agreed on the establishment of Baku–Supsa pipeline. The South Caucasus Pipeline (also known as Baku–Tbilisi–Erzurum Pipeline, BTE pipeline, or Shah Deniz Pipeline) is a natural gas pipeline from the Shah Deniz gas field in the Azerbaijan sector of the Caspian Sea to Turkey. The Baku–Tbilisi–Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline is a long crude oil pipeline from the Azeri–Chirag–Gunashli oil field in the Caspian Sea to the Mediterranean Sea.
