Gunananda Himi Migettuwatte
''Gunananda Himi Migettuwatte'' ( si, ගුණානන්ද හිමි මිගෙට්ටුවත්තේ) is an upcoming Sri Lankan Sinhala biographical patriotic film directed by Sisil Gunesekera and co-produced by director himself with Kamal Karunanayake. The film is about the life of Venarable Migettuwatte Gunananda Thero, who was a Buddhist monk and hero of the Panadura debate during British colonial time. It stars Roger Seneviratne in lead role along with Suranga Ranawaka, Priyankara Rathnayake and Lucky Dias. Music composed by Nilatha Sri Pathirana. Production The film has been shot on location at Kosgoda, Balapitiya, Dambulla, Kalutara, Panadura and Kotahena areas, with filming being completed in 34 days. Joseph Roger Seneviratne (born 5 May 1962 as රොජර් සෙනෙවිරත්න) inhala, is an actor in Sri Lankan cinema, stage drama and television as well as singer and politician by profession. Highly versatile actor who dominated television screen, he is best known for the roles in teledrama ''Batti'', ''Chathurya'' and as King Vijaya in film ''Vijaya Kuweni''. Priyankara Rathnayake (born June 3, 1964 as si, ප්‍රියංකර රත්නායක) is an actor in Sri Lankan cinema, stage drama and television. Migettuwatte Gunananda Thera or Mohottiwatte Gunananda Thera ( si, පූජ්‍ය මිගෙට්ටුවත්තේ ගුණානන්ද හිමි) (9 February 1823, Balapitiya – 21 September 1890, Colombo) was a Sri Lankan Sinhala Buddhist orator. He is known for leading the Buddhist side in debates between Buddhists and Christians in Baddegama, Udanwita, Waragoda, Liyanagemulla, Gampola, and Panadura, where the most famous of the debates took place. As a result of the debates, Buddhism in Sri Lanka saw a revival. Daya Bandara Tennakoon (born 29 November 1941 – died 17 April 2020 as දයා තෙන්නකෝන්) inhala, was an actor in Sri Lankan cinema, stage drama and television. Personal life He was born on 29 November 1941 in the small village Galabadawatta, in Rangala, Kandy.
