Gullu Butt
Gullu is the name of one of the vandals responsible for the violent nature of the altercation between police and Minhaj-ul-Quran workers in the 2014 Lahore clash. Initially blame for the violence was placed on the NGO workers. News footage then revealed an individual using a club to smash the windscreens of many parked vehicles in full view of dozens of police officers who looked on but did not intervene; he was identified as Gullu Butt, an activist of the ruling PML-N against whom the PAT was protesting. According to several media reports Gullu Butt had been invited by the Punjab police to disrupt what had been a peaceful movement but PML-N's Saad Rafique then Federal Minister for Railways, announced that Gullu Butt did not have any connection with the government. 2014 Lahore Clash
The Model Town operation, more commonly known as the Model Town tragedy or the Lahore massacre ( ur, سانحہ ماڈل ٹاؤن), or simply Lahore incident, was a violent clash that ensued between the Punjab Police and Pakistan Awami Tehreek activists on 17 June 2014 resulting in several protesters being killed by the police gunfire. Five police officers remain under arrest. Minhaj-ul-Quran International ( ur, ) (or MQI) is an international non-governmental organization (NGO) founded by Shaykh-ul-Islam Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri in 1980 in Lahore, Pakistan. Khawaja Saad Rafique (; born 4 November 1962) is a Pakistani politician who has been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan since October 2018 and the current federal minister for Railways.
