Bhola Sadar ( bn, ভোলা সদর) is an upazila of Bhola District in the Division of Barisal, Bangladesh. Geography Bhola Sadar is located at . It has a total area of . Demographics According to the 2011 Bangladesh census, Bhola Sadar Upazila had 88,068 households and a population of 430,520, 20.3% of whom lived in urban areas. 11.8% of the population was under the age of 5. The literacy rate (age 7 and over) was 45.2%, compared to the national average of 51.8%. Bhola District ( bn, ভোলা) is an administrative district (''zila'') in south-central Bangladesh, which includes Bhola Island, the largest island of Bangladesh. It is located in the Barisal Division and has an area of 3403.48 km2. It is bounded by Lakshmipur and Barisal District to the north, the Bay of Bengal to the south, by Lakshmipur and Noakhali districts, the (lower) Meghna river and Shahbazpur Channel to the east, and by Patuakhali District and the Tetulia river to the west.
