Gulf United Football Club ( ar, نادي جلف يونايتد لكرة القدم) is an Emirati professional football club that started as an academy in Dubai. They currently play in the UAE Second Division, after promotion from the UAE Third Division in the 2021–22 season. The club is well known for nurturing young talent, playing exhibition matches against professional overseas teams and for being one of leading football brands in the Middle-East. History Founding In 2019, the Gulf United academy was founded by a group of English football coaches from Manchester, and has since become one of the market leaders. Steven Taylor (footballer)
Steven Vincent Taylor (born 23 January 1986) is an English former professional footballer who played as a defender. He played over 200 games and 13 seasons in the Premier League with Newcastle United. He is the current head coach of Gulf United, a Second Division football club in United Arab Emirates. Early career Taylor was born in Greenwich, London to a family from Newcastle upon Tyne and moved back to the North East weeks later. He was raised in Whitley Bay, North Tyneside and attended Valley Gardens Middle School with future teammate Peter Ramage. Transfer Window
A transfer window is the period during the year in which a football club can transfer players from other playing staff into their playing staff. Such a transfer is completed by registering the player into the new club through FIFA. "Transfer window" is the unofficial term commonly used by the media for the concept of "registration period" as described in the FIFA Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players. According to the rules, each national football association decides on the time (such as the dates) of the 'window' but it may not exceed 12 weeks. Manyumow Achol (born 10 December 2000) is a South Sudanese professional footballer who plays as a winger or a midfielder for Vīrsliga club Auda and the South Sudan national team. Early life Achol was born in South Sudan, then part of Sudan, but left with his grandmother and arrived in New Zealand aged six as a refugee, settling in Wellington. Gary Hooper (born 26 January 1988) is an English professional footballer who plays as a forward for Cypriot club Omonia. Hooper started his career at League Grays Athletic in 2003.
