The Pensacola FC Women are an American soccer team based in Pensacola, Florida. Founded in 2011 as the Gulf Coast Texans, they play in the Gulf Coast Premier League. History The team was founded as Gulf Coast Texans in 2011. The team captured the 2012 WPSL title defeating Boston Aztec 4–0 in the final. The team reached the WPSL Final again in 2017, but fell short losing to Fire & Ice SC. In 2018 the first year playing as Pensacola FC, the team made the final again but this time losing to Seattle Sounders ladies 3-1 in 2018. In 2019 however playing against a star studded Utah Royals Reserve team, PFC were crowned Champions by a margin of 4-3 in the finals under the Helm of longstanding Head Coach David Kemp and assistants Jason Providence and Dean Logan. David Kemp was voted the coach of the year. In 2021 Pensacola FC moved to the UWS women's league in the Southeast Division where they were the league and conference champions. Gulf Coast Premier League
The Gulf Coast Premier League (GCPL) is a United States Adult Soccer Association affiliated Amateur Elite League that includes teams from Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas. The regular season of the GCPL runs May through July. On August 13, 2020, it was announced that the GCPL would be the first "amateur league affiliation" of the National Independent Soccer Association after Gaffa FC and Louisiana Krewe FC competed in the NISA 2020 Independent Cup. Boston Aztec (WPSL)
Boston Aztec is an American amateur soccer team based in Beverly, Massachusetts, United States. Founded in 2005, the team plays in Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL), a national amateur league at the second tier of the American Soccer Pyramid. In 2009, the Boston Aztec became the reserve team to the WPS Boston Breakers. The Breakers team has loan agreements in place for players to compete with the Boston Aztec in WPSL matches. The Boston Aztec players also train with the Boston Breakers staff. The Boston Aztec roster is composed entirely of post-college players. Emily Madril
Emily May Madril (born July 1, 1999) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a defender for Orlando Pride of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). Madril spent her collegiate career with the Florida State Seminoles and was part of the 2021 National Championship winning team before being drafted third overall in the 2023 NWSL Draft by Orlando Pride. Early life Madril was born in Boise, Idaho in 1999. Her family moved to Navarre, Florida in the summer of 2014. She attended Navarre High School where she tallied 107 goals and 70 assists for the soccer team and was honored with several individual awards including 2016 Florida Miss Soccer and twice Player of the Year by the Pensacola News Journal. Pensacola FC is an American professional soccer team based in Pensacola, Florida the men's side competes in the National Premier Soccer League and the women's side competes in the Women's Premier Soccer League. It formerly played in the Gulf Coast Premier League. History The team was founded in 2013 and competed in the National Premier Soccer League. They were part of the Gulf Coast Texans organization, which also included a team in the Women's Premier Soccer League and youth teams. In 2013, the team announced it would end its partnership with the Texans and adopt a new name, Pensacola City FC. The team announced on May 29, 2014, they were folding and would not complete the 2014 NPSL season.
