Guilty Pleasures (Lazlo Bane Album)
''Guilty Pleasures'' is a 2007 album by the band Lazlo Bane, consisting entirely of cover versions of various hits from the 1970s. Unlike the band's previous album, ''Back Sides'', which was released only digitally through online music stores, ''Guilty Pleasures'' was released both on CD and digital download formats. It is also the only Lazlo Bane album where every member of the band sings lead vocals on at least one song. Overview The project was first announced through the band's Myspace blog in January 2007 with the first song mentioned being " Stuck in the Middle with You". The band ended up with the album containing 20 songs, almost all of which were originally released in the 1970s, except " I Love You" by Climax Blues Band, which was released on the album ''Flying the Flag'' and also as a single in 1980. Lazlo Bane is an alternative rock band from Santa Monica, California, United States. They are well known for collaborating with former Men at Work member Colin Hay, and providing the song "Superman (Lazlo Bane song), Superman" as the theme for the television show ''Scrubs (TV series), Scrubs''. Background Formation and early years The band's origin can be traced back to the efforts of Chad Fischer touring with School of Fish in the early 1990s as a drummer. After a disagreement and falling out with a producer and School of Fish eventual split, Fischer went solo and began writing and recording his own material without the benefit of professional mixing or mastering. Funny Face was a brand of powdered drink mix originally made and publicly sold by the Pillsbury Company from 1964 to 1994, and in limited productions (mainly in the Midwestern and New England regions of the U.S.A.) from 1994 to 2001. The brand was introduced as competition to the similar (and more familiar and better-selling) Kool-Aid made by Kraft Foods. The product came in assorted flavors sweetened with artificial sweetener, and was mixed with water to make a beverage. Cleto and the Cletones is the moniker of the "house band" on the ABC-TV late-night television program, ''Jimmy Kimmel Live!'' (2003–present). Lawrence Sam “Larry” Goldings (born August 28, 1968) is an American jazz keyboardist and composer. His music has explored elements of funk, blues, and fusion. Goldings has a comedic alter ego known as Hans Groiner. Life and career Goldings was born in Boston.
