Guillaume Pianelli
Guillaume Pianelli-Balisoni (born 1 May 1998) is a French soccer player who plays as a defender. Early life Pianelli was a product of the SC Bastia system, where he began playing at age 5, remaining there for his entire youth career, eventually training with the first team, only leaving the club when they began to experience financial difficulties. University career In 2019, he moved to Canada to attend the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières, where he played for the men's soccer team, winning the U Sports men's soccer championship in his first year, where he was named to the all-tournament team. Ahead of the 2022 season, he was named the team captain. Pianelli was named a U Sports First Team All-Canadian in 2022 and an RSEQ All-Star in 2019, 2021 and 2022. 2022 CPL–U Sports Draft
The 2022 CPL–U Sports Draft was the fourth annual CPL–U Sports Draft. Eight Canadian Premier League (CPL) teams selected 16 eligible U Sports soccer players in total, when the draft was held on January 20, 2022. Format Players can be selected if they have one to four years of U Sports eligibility remaining and have declared for the draft by December 1, 2021. On January 13, 2022, the league announced the list of 165 players who would be eligible for selection. Each CPL team made two selections in the draft. The 2023 Valour FC season was the fifth season in the history of Valour FC. They played in the Canadian Premier League, which it co-founded and played in since the inception of both the club and the league. The club entered the Canadian Championship in the preliminary round. Background In Valour's preceding four seasons, it never reached the play-offs, for which the top-four qualified in those seasons. 2022 Forge FC Season
The 2022 Forge FC season was the fourth season in the history of Forge FC. In addition to the Canadian Premier League, the club competed in the 2022 Canadian Championship and the previously delayed final of the 2020 Canadian Championship. The Championnat National 3, commonly referred to as simply National 3 and formerly known as Championnat de France Amateur 2, is a football league competition. The league serves as the fifth division of the French football league system behind Ligue 1, Ligue 2, Championnat National, and the Championnat National 2. 2023 CPL–U Sports Draft
The 2023 CPL–U Sports Draft was the fifth annual CPL–U Sports Draft. Canadian Premier League (CPL) teams selected 16 eligible U Sports soccer players to be invited to their respective preseason camps with the opportunity to earn developmental contracts for the 2023 Canadian Premier League season. Format Players could be selected if they had one to four years of U Sports eligibility remaining, were in good academic standing, were planning to return to school the following year, and completed the CPL's draft declaration form by December 9, 2022. On December 12, the CPL released the list of 199 athletes who declared for the draft.
