''Guerrillas and Generals'' is a book written by American Paul H. Lewis. Its subject is the history of Argentina from the 1970s to some years ago. It talks about the Dirty War in Argentina and the trials of Jorge Rafael Videla and other military rulers of Argentina. Reception Donald C. Hodges of Florida State University, reviewing the book in ''Political Science Quarterly'', claims that Lewis holds a bias against the guerrillas. Jorge Rafael Videla (; ; 2 August 1925 – 17 May 2013) was an Argentine military officer and dictator, Commander in Chief of the Army, member of the Military Junta, and ''de facto'' President of Argentina from 29 March 1976 to 29 March 1981. His reign, which was during the time of Operation Condor, was among the most infamous in Latin America during the Cold War, due to its high level of human rights abuses and severe economic mismanagement. He came to power in a ''coup d'état'' that deposed Isabel Perón. Abraham Guillén
Abraham Guillén (13 March 1913 – 1 August 1993), was a Spanish author, economist, and educator. He was a veteran of the Spanish Civil War, influenced by anarchism. One of the most prolific revolutionary writers in Latin America during the 1960s and intellectual mentor of Uruguay's revolutionary Movement of National Liberation (Tupamaros), he is most widely known as the author of ''Strategy of the Urban Guerrilla'', which played an important role in the activities of urban guerrillas in Uruguay, Argentina, and Brazil.
