Gudemnis
Gudemnis ( hy, Գուդեմնիս) is a village in the Meghri Municipality of the Syunik Province in Armenia. Demographics Population The National Statistical Service of the Republic of Armenia (ARMSTAT) reported its population as 39 in 2010, down from 66 at the 2001 census. The inhabitants speak the Kakavaberd dialect of Armenian. Syunik Province
Syunik ( hy, Սյունիք, ) is the southernmost province of Armenia. It is bordered by the Vayots Dzor Province to the north, Azerbaijan's Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic exclave to the west, Azerbaijan to the east, and Iran to the south. Its capital and largest city is the town of Kapan. The Statistical Committee of Armenia reported its population was 141,771 in the 2011 census, down from 152,684 at the 2001 census. Etymology Syunik was one of the 15 provinces of the Kingdom of Armenia. The early Armenian historian Movses Khorenatsi connected the name of the province with Sisak, a descendant of the legendary Armenian patriarch Hayk and supposed progenitor of the ancient Siunia (or Syunik) dynasty, which ruled Syunik from the first century CE. However, historian Robert Hewsen considered Sisak to be a later eponym. A municipality in Armenia referred to as community ( hy, համայնք ''hamaynk'', plural: hy, համայնքներ ''hamaynkner''), is an administrative subdivision consisting of a settlement ( hy, բնակավայր ''bnakavayr'') or a group of settlements ( hy, բնակավայրեր ''bnakavayrer'') that enjoys local self-government. Kakavaberd Dialect
The Kakavaberd dialect ( hy, Կաքավաբերդի բարբառ) is an Armenian dialect spoken in the villages Vahravar, Gudemnis, Kuris and Agarak in Armenia. Carcharodus Lavatherae
''Muschampia lavatherae'', the marbled skipper, is a butterfly of the family Hesperiidae. It is found from the Rhine Rift Valley in central Germany up to North Africa and from south-eastern France up to Anatolia. The wingspan is 28–34 mm. The butterfly gives one generation per year and flies from May to July depending on the location. The larvae feed on ''Stachys recta'' and '' Sideritis scordioides'' in Southern Europe. This species was formerly a member of the genus ''Carcharodus ''Carcharodus'' is a Palearctic genus of skippers in the family Hesperiidae. Pseudophilotes Vicrama
''Pseudophilotes vicrama'', the eastern baton blue, Retrieved April 23, 2018. is a small butterfly found in Asia, east to Tian Shan and parts of China, west to the Balkans, Turkey, eastern Europe to southern Finland. It belongs to the lycaenids or blues family. The species was first described by Frederic Moore in 1865. Taxonomy This butterfly was earlier known as ''Polyommatus vicrama'' (Staudinger). Tomares Romanovi
''Tomares romanovi'', or Romanoff's hairstreak, is a butterfly of the family Lycaenidae. It is found in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, eastern Turkey, northern Iran, and Kopet Dagh mountains. The wingspan is 28–30 mm. The species inhabits calcareous grasslands and arid mountain steppes, usually dominated by tragacanth locoweeds. It occupies elevation range from 1200 to 1600 m above sea level. The butterfly flies from late April to mid-June depending on latitude and elevation. Chazara Briseis
''Chazara briseis'', the hermit, is a butterfly species belonging to the family Nymphalidae. It can be found in North Africa, southern Europe, Asia Minor, the Caucasus, Kazakhstan, Central Asia through Afghanistan, and north-western China and Tuva. It is found on steppe and in other dry grassy places between 500 and 2,500 meters. Their wingspan is 45–60 mm. The butterflies fly from July to September depending on the location. Colias Aurorina
''Colias aurorina'', the Greek clouded butterfly or dawn clouded yellow, is a butterfly in the family Pieridae. It is found in Central Greece, the Near East and the Caucasus area. It is rare in former Yugoslavia. Description ''Colias aurorina'' is one of the largest species of the genus; the wingspan is 35–70 mm. The upperside of the male is dusky orange -yellow, with moderately broad blackish brown marginal band which is traversed at the apex by yellow veins, the rather large middle spot of the forewing being blackish brown and that of the hindwing large and orange-red. The ground-colour of the female is somewhat brighter red, the dark marginal band bearing large yellow spots, which on the hindwing form a proximally dark-edged band, the dark marginal band being obsolescent.
