Guayupe People
The Guayupe are an Arawak-speaking indigenous group of people in modern-day Colombia. They inhabit the westernmost parts of the department of Meta. At the time of the Spanish conquest, more than 250,000 Guayupe were living in large parts of Meta. The territories of the Guayupe stretched from the neighbouring Guahibo terrains to the east and north and the Muisca territories to the west over an area of . Knowledge of the Guayupe has been provided by Pedro de Aguado and others. Meta Department
Meta () is a departments of Colombia, department of Colombia. It is close to the geographic center of the country, to the east of the Andean mountains. A large portion of the department, which is also crossed by the Meta River, is covered by a grassland plain known as the Llanos. Its capital is Villavicencio. The department has a monument placed in the very geographic centre of Colombia, at a place known as Alto de Menegua, a few kilometers from Puerto López. Achagua language, Achagua, which is similar to Piapoco, is an indigenous languages of the Americas, Indigenous language spoken by a minority in the department. Cubarral
Cubarral is a town and municipality in the Meta Department, Colombia. The municipality of Guamal borders Cubarral to the north, to the west is bordered by the department of Cundinamarca, to the east by the municipality of San Martín and to the south by the municipality of El Dorado.
