Annie Guay
Annie Guay (born June 29, 1985) is a Canadian ice hockey player. She is a member of the Canadian national women's hockey team and a member of Montreal Stars (CWHL). Her first tournament for the senior Canada women's national ice hockey team was at the 2010 Four Nations Cup where she won the gold medal. At the age of 25, she retired from the competitive hockey. Playing career Born in Rouyn-Noranda, Guay made her amateur hockey in the region of Abitibi-Témiscamingue in Quebec. She was selected for the national camp Under-22 years and she played for the under-22 Canadian National Team (2003 to 2009). Also since 2008, she is a member of Montreal Stars in the Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL). In season 2010–11, She is 7th leading scorer and only Defencemen in the top 10 scoring leaders. Erik Guay () (born August 5, 1981) is a Canadian former World Cup alpine ski racer. Racing out of Mont-Tremblant, Quebec, Guay won the World Cup season title in super-G in 2010 and was the world champion in downhill in 2011, as well as in the super-G in 2017. With 25 World Cup podiums, he is the career leader for Canada. Career Born in Montreal, Guay was five when he competed in his first ski race, and when he was twelve his father, himself a ski team coach, took him for professional coaching. His first podium came in November 2003, when he finished 2nd in a downhill at Lake Louise. He finished in second twice in 2005 in the super-G and third once in downhill. Florian Guay was a politician in Quebec, Canada and a Member of the National Assembly of Quebec (MNA). Background He was born in Saint-Léon-de-Standon, Quebec on November 23, 1941. Prior to running for office, he was a Social Credit activist and managed a furniture store. Provincial politics Guay ran as a candidate of the Ralliement créditiste in the 1970 provincial election and won, becoming the Member of the National Assembly for the district of Dorchester. During his term of office, the party was plagued by internal divisions. While three MNAs remained loyal to Leader Camil Samson, Guay and the rest of the caucus withdrew their support and appointed Armand Bois as temporary leader, until a leadership convention could determine a new leader. François Guay (born June 8, 1968) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey centre. Guay was born in Gatineau, Quebec. As a youth, he played in the 1980 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with a minor ice hockey team from Brossard. He was drafted in the eighth round, 152nd overall, by the Buffalo Sabres in the 1986 NHL Entry Draft. Gabriel Guay (October 14, 1848 – September 15, 1923), whose full name was Julien Gabriel Guay, was a French painter and teacher. From 1873 he exhibited works at the annual Paris Salon. He painted portraits, and also scenes inspired by literature, mythology, the Bible, and Christian martyrdom. His reverence for nature and especially for trees, combined with his affinity for the female nude, resulted in his most distinctive and widely exhibited paintings, depicting dryads in the woods. Personal life Guay was born in 1848 in a northern Parisian suburb, the village of Quartier de La Chapelle, La Chapelle; in 1859 it was incorporated into the 18th arrondissement of Paris. Born in St. Vital, Manitoba, Guay was an alderman and mayor of Saint-Boniface, Manitoba before turning to federal politics. He won the St. Boniface Liberal nomination in the buildup to the 1968 federal election over the sitting member, cabinet minister Roger-Joseph Teillet. Paul Francois Guay (born September 2, 1963 in Providence, Rhode Island) is a retired American professional ice hockey player. He is now an assistant coach for his high school's hockey team and is a captain in the Pawtucket Fire Department. He was inducted into the Rhode Island Hockey Hall of Fame in 2020. Amateur career Guay played high school hockey at Mount Saint Charles Academy, which has been known to boost many players up to the NHL. While at Providence College, Guay set the school's record for number of goals in a single-season by scoring 34 in 1982–1983.
