Guam Highway 16 (GH-16), also named Army Drive, is one of the primary automobile highways in the United States territory of Guam . Route description GH-16 serves as one of the chief routes of the island's central plateau, splitting off from GH-8 in Barrigada and turning northeast, skirting around the eastern reaches of Tiyan (formerly Naval Air Station Guam) and the neighboring Antonio B. This single-point urban interchange is with two routes: GH-10A (which heads west back towards the airport's terminals) and GH-25, which heads east towards Dededo. Barrigada, Guam
Barrigada ( ch, Barigåda) is a village in the United States territory of Guam. A largely residential municipality, its main village is located south of the Antonio B. Won Pat International Airport near the intersections of Routes 8, 10, and 16. The community east of the airport known as Barrigada Heights is considered an affluent neighborhood on the island, where homes have excellent views overlooking much of Guam including the island's airport and hotels along Tumon Bay. Another significant location is Mount Barrigada, nearly 200 meters above sea level. Dededo ( ch, Dedidu; formerly in Spanish: , in Japanese: , ''Dededo'') is the most populated village in the United States territory of Guam. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Dededo's population was just under 45,000 in 2020. The village is located on the coral plateau of Northern Guam. The greater Dededo-Machanao-Apotgan Urban Cluster had a population of 139,825 as of the 2010 census, making up 87.7% of Guam's population and 29.8% of its area. Guam Highway 8
Guam Highway 8 (GH-8) is one of the primary automobile highways in the United States territory of Guam. Route description The route is one of the more important highways in the island and is designated the Purple Heart Highway. The primary means of traversing the plateaued central part of the island, the route begins running south from a junction with GH-1 and almost immediately curves eastward into Mongmong-Toto-Maite. It shortly intersects the east end of GH-33, which provides a route into downtown Hagåtña. From there, the route continues eastward into the community of Barrigada. A single-point urban interchange (SPUI, or ), also called a single-point interchange (SPI) or single-point diamond interchange (SPDI), is a type of highway interchange. The design was created in order to help move large volumes of traffic through limited amounts of space safely and efficiently. Guam Highway 10A (GH-10A) is one of the primary automobile highways in the United States territory of Guam. Route description GH-10A is one of a number of orphaned suffixed routes on Guam; it bears no physical connection to its parent, GH-10 located elsewhere in Barrigada. In fact, GH-10A (named Chalan Pasaheru) is considered a very important route in its own right, as its primary purpose is to provide access to Antonio B. Won Pat International Airport. Guam Highway 27 (GH-27), also known as Hamburger Highway or Harmon Loop Road, is a short highway in the United States territory of Guam. The highway runs in an east–west direction from a junction with GH-16 to a junction with GH-1, and is located almost entirely in the southern region of the city of Dededo. The highway gets its name from the fact that it provides access to a large McDonald's restaurant located at the intersection with GH-16.
