Gruža (Knić)
The Gruža ( sr-cyr, Гружа; ) is a village located in the municipality of Knić, central Serbia. The village is located near the Gruža Lake dam, few kilometers to the north from the river. It is a typical example of the stretched road village along the Kragujevac–Kraljevo road and railway. It is a small, depopulating settlement with a population of 153 inhabitants (as of 2011 census). An ''okrug'' is one of the first-level administrative divisions of Serbia, corresponding to a "district" in many other countries (Serbia also has two autonomous provinces at a higher level than districts). Gruža Lake
Gruža Lake ( sr, Гружанско језеро , translit=Gružansko jezero), is an artificial lake located to the southwest of Knić, Serbia. The lake was created in 1983 as a water reservoir for the city of Kragujevac and the surrounding settlements. The lake covers an area of approximately 9.19 km2, making it the largest body of water in Central Serbia. History The special spatial plan for the future lake and the surrounding area was drafted in 1976. It took almost a decade of scientific and expertly deliberations on the viability of a reservoir on the bad configuration terrain, but the politicians decided to go with it.
