''Grupul Special de Protecţie şi Intervenţie'' (GSPI, eng, (Special Group for Protection and Intervention) is the police tactical unit of the Romanian General Directorate for Internal Security (DGPI) ( ro, Direcția Generală de Protecție Internă) part of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. A police tactical unit (PTU) is a specialized police unit trained to handle situations that are beyond the capabilities of ordinary law enforcement units because of the level of violence (or risk of violence) involved.
