Grupo KAOS
Grupo KAOS was a Puerto Rican merengue music band of the 1990s. The band enjoyed some success in Puerto Rico, Central and South America and the Dominican Republic. Members KAOS' line-up always consisted of four members, but the band went through several line-up changes. Merengue Music
Merengue is a type of music and dance originating in the Dominican Republic, which has become a very popular genre throughout Latin America, and also in several major cities in the United States with Latino communities. Merengue was inscribed on November 30, 2016 in the representative list of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity of UNESCO. Merengue was developed in the middle of the 1800s, originally played with European stringed instruments ( bandurria and guitar). Years later, the stringed instruments were replaced by the accordion, thus conforming, together with the güira and the tambora, the instrumental structure of the typical merengue ensemble. This set, with its three instruments, represents the synthesis of the three cultures that made up the idiosyncrasy of Dominican culture. Menudo (group)
Menudo is a Puerto Rico, Puerto Rican boy band that was formed in Puerto Rico by producer Edgardo Díaz. Referred to as the "Most Iconic Latino Pop Music Band", Menudo has been ranked as one of the Biggest Boy Bands of All Time by several publications, including ''Billboard (magazine), Billboard'', ''Us Weekly'', ''Seventeen (American magazine), Seventeen'', and ''Teen Vogue'', being the only Latin band on their lists. The band had several radio hits during its course. They acted in a television film (1979's ''Leyenda de Amor'') and two feature films, ''Una aventura llamada Menudo'' and ''Menudo: La Película'', in a telenovela named "Quiero Ser" and a television mini-series named ''Panchito y Arturo''. Charlie Masso
Carlos Javier Rivera Masso (born June 13, 1969 in San Juan, Puerto Rico), better known as Charlie Masso, is a Puerto Rican singer and actor. Masso is a former member of Menudo, joining the band at the height of Menudo's worldwide fame. He replaced Rene Farrait and quickly became a fan favorite with his participation on the albums of ''Por Amor'' and ''Una Aventura Llamada Menudo'', which was the soundtrack of Menudo's second movie. Charlie recorded 14 albums with Menudo, two were nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album in 1984 and 85. Career Masso began his life as a Menudo the very moment that one of Menudo's members of the group's "golden era," Farrait, left the group.
