Grupo Frontera
Grupo Frontera is an American regional Mexican band from Edinburg, Texas. The band consists of Adelaido "Payo" Solís III (vocals, bajo quinto), Juan Javier Cantú (vocals, accordion), Julian Peña Jr. (congas), Alberto "Beto" Acosta (bajo quinto), Carlos Guerrero (drums), and Carlos Zamora (bass guitar). Career Grupo Frontera was formed in 2019, originally performing at weddings and parties, which lead them to releasing their debut EP in March 2022, ''En Vivo, Vol. 1''. Their release includes covers of songs such as Vicente Fernández's "Estos Celos" and Diego Verdaguer's "La Ladrona". A month later, they released their second EP, containing a cover of Morat's "No Se Va" which eventually went viral on TikTok and would chart at the end of the year. The ''Billboard'' Hot Latin Songs (formerly Hot Latin Tracks and Hot Latin 50) is a record chart in the United States for Latin songs, published weekly by ''Billboard'' magazine. Regional Mexican Airplay (also referred to as Regional Mexican Songs) is a record chart published by ''Billboard'' magazine. It was established by the magazine on October 8, 1994, with "La Niña Fresa" by Banda Zeta being the first number-one song on the chart. The chart mainly focuses on musical styles originating from Mexico including Mariachi, Norteño, Banda and Duranguense as well as the Mexican American community in the United States such as Tejano. ''El Comienzo'' (English: The Beginning) is the debut studio album by American regional Mexican music band Grupo Frontera. It was released on August 3, 2023 through VHR Music. Background and release Grupo Frontera was formed in 2019 and they created their YouTube channel in 2022, where they released their debut single "La Plata" in April. That same month, they released their second single " No Se Va"; a cover of Morat's original song, which eventually became a hit for the band, and their first hit single.
