Grove City is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Charlotte County, Florida, United States. The population was 2,174 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Sarasota-Bradenton-Punta Gorda, FL CSA, Sarasota-Bradenton-Punta Gorda Combined Statistical Area. History Grove City was platted in 1886. A post office was established at Grove City in 1887, and remained in operation until 1910. Geography Grove City is located in western Charlotte County at (26.911966, -82.324933). It is bordered by Englewood, Florida, Englewood to the north and by Manasota Key, Florida, Manasota Key to the west across Lemon Bay, an arm of the Gulf of Mexico. Grove City, Minnesota
Grove City is a city in Meeker County, Minnesota, United States. Most of the city lies in Acton Township with the norther portion in Swede Grove Township. The population was 624 at the 2020 census. History In 1870, the St. Paul and Pacific Railway come to Acton Township and started the Acton Station two miles east of today's Grove City. There was also a post office one mile north called Swede Grove. The different locations caused confusion, and the people convinced the railroad to move the station to present day Grove City. Grove City was incorporated in 1878. In naming the town, "Grove" was chosen from Swede Grove and "City" represented the citizens hope for the future of the town. A post office called Grove City has been in operation since 1879, having been moved from north of the town. The post office was among the first businesses. Grove City is a city in Franklin County, Ohio, Franklin County, Ohio, United States which was founded in 1852. It is a suburb of Columbus, Ohio, Columbus. The population was 41,252 according to the 2020 Census. History Until the mid-19th century, the area that is now Grove City was a wilderness filled with oak, beech, maple, walnut, Cornus, dogwood and other trees. The area's first European settler, Hugh Grant, operated a gristmill in Pittsburgh and transported excess goods down the Ohio River for sale, returning to Pittsburgh on foot. On one of these trips, he passed through the Scioto River, Scioto Valley region and in 1803, purchased the land that would become Grove City and returned with his wife Catharine to start a new life.
