Grindline Skateparks
Grindline Skateparks is an American company that designs and builds skateboard parks. It has designed and built over 400 skateparks worldwide, including the largest skatepark in America, Spring Park Texas. History Mark Hubbard was working as a pool-building contractor. He helped with the construction of the Burnside Skatepark in Portland. Living in Seattle, he started to turn his friends' pools into half-pipes, and eventually created Grindline Skateparks with cofounder Dave Palmer. Grindline Skateparks was incorporated in 2002 by Mark Hubbard, who managed the company until his death on 8 June 2018. Mark "Monk" Hubbard
Mark "Monk" Hubbard (October 27, 1970 – June 8, 2018) was a skateboarder, artist, skatepark builder, and founder of Grindline Skateparks. Early life Hubbard was born in West Seattle in 1970 and received his first skateboard in 1975 for his fifth birthday. Skatepark building In regards to skateparks, Hubbard believed in DIY skate spots and building one's own skateboarding paradise, stating that there is nothing that compares to riding an obstacle you've built. Monk was involved in the Burnside Skatepark project. Grindline Skateparks On January 26, 2000 Monk founded Grindline Skateparks. As of 2015, Grindline had built over 300 parks across the world. Pitcher Park Memorial Skate Park
Pitcher Park Memorial Skate Park is a skatepark that was built in Carnegie, Pennsylvania. Members of the community of the South Hills of Pittsburgh undertook a grass roots effort to build this as a memorial to honor two brothers, Vincent and Stephen Pitcher, who drowned together on July 15, 2008, while on a camping trip at the Kinzua Dam next to the Allegheny Reservoir. Prosser, Washington
Prosser () is a city in and the county seat of Benton County, Washington, United States. Situated along the Yakima River, it had a population of 5,714 at the 2010 census. History Prosser was long home to Native Americans who lived and fished along the river. They called the area "Táptat" (alternatively spelled Tap-tat, Top tut, etc.), which translates to "long hair in front, short hair on the sides", referring to a style of headdress. Colonel William Farrand Prosser first surveyed the area in 1879, then claimed homestead in 1882. The Northern Pacific Railroad laid tracks through the area two years later. Union Gap is a city in Yakima County, Washington, United States. As of the 2020 census, the city population was 6,568. The Lee and Joe Jamail Skatepark is a public skatepark in Houston, Texas, United States. The $2.7 million project opened in June 2008.
