Grimbergen
Grimbergen () is a municipality in the Belgian province of Flemish Brabant, 10 km north of the capital Brussels. It comprises the towns of Beigem, Grimbergen, Humbeek, and Strombeek-Bever. In 2017, it had a population of 37,030 and an area of 38.61 km2, giving a population density of 959 inhabitants per km2. Grimbergen is in the Dutch language area of Belgium. The French-speaking minority is represented by four members on the 30-seat local council. Grimbergen is mostly known for its Norbertine abbey and the beer once brewed there. Grimbergen's proximity to Brussels makes it a residential town for commuting. History Roman Empire and Middle Ages In Roman times, several important roads passed near the territory of present Grimbergen. A fort was built in the 8th century at the strategic point where the road crossed the river Zenne. Rhine–Herne Canal
The Rhine–Herne Canal (german: Rhein-Herne-Kanal) is a transportation canal in the Ruhr area of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, with five canal locks. The canal was built over a period of eight years (5 April 1906 – 14 July 1914) and connects the harbour in Duisburg on the Rhine () with the Dortmund-Ems Canal near Henrichenburg (), following the valley of the Emscher. It was widened in the 1980s. The Rhein-Herne canal ship was designed specifically for this canal; normally of about 1300–1350 ton capacity, it has a maximum draft of , a length of approximately , and maximum beam of . Originally the Rhine-Herne canal ended in Herne, where it met a branch of the '' Dortmund-Ems-Kanal'' running from Henrichenburg to Herne, the intersection situated just above the East Herne lock. Tina Grimberg
Tina Grimberg is a Reconstructionist Rabbi living in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Since 2008, she has been a leader in the inter-religious dialogue with Muslims and Christians in Ontario. She has been active in the movement against poverty in Canada. Youth and early life Grimberg was born in 1963 in Kiev, Ukraine. Her family moved to the United States when she was sixteen, and immediately became involved in the Jewish community of Indianapolis. She developed a passionate interest in the Jewish heritage that was so hard to access in her childhood. Rabbinical school Grimberg initially trained and worked as a family therapist specializing in women's issues and domestic violence.She was awarded diplomas from Butler University and Indiana University. After she attended the Hebrew Union College’s Jewish Institute of Religion, she received her rabbinic ordination in 2001. Carl Grimberg
Carl Gustaf Grimberg (22 September 1875 in Gothenburg, Sweden – 11 June 1941 in Djursholm) was a Swedish historian. His parents were Joel Grimberg and Charlotta (née Andersson). In 1919 he married Eva Carlsdotter Sparre (1895–1982). Grimberg's most famous work is his history of Sweden, ''Svenska folkets underbara öden'' (1913-1924). In 1926 Grimberg began to publish his history of the world, ''Världshistoria'', but he did not finish it before his death. Publications in Norway The first Norwegian edition of Grimberg's world history was entitled ''Menneskenes Liv og Historie'', and was published in the years 1955–1962. The publication consisted of 22 volumes. After the mention of the Neanderthals, the history of the world is reproduced from ancient Egypt until the end of the Second World War.
