Queensland Heritage Register
The Queensland Heritage Register is a heritage register, a statutory list of places in Queensland, Australia that are protected by Queensland legislation, the Queensland Heritage Act 1992. It is maintained by the Queensland Heritage Council. As at 5 April 2020 there are 1790 places on the Queensland Heritage Register, including the Story Bridge in Brisbane and the Ross River Meatworks Chimney in Townsville. Criteria For a place to be entered in the register, it must be nominated and then go through a process of assessment. South Brisbane Library
South Brisbane Library is a heritage-listed former library at 472 Stanley Street, South Brisbane, City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It was designed by Francis Drummond Greville Stanley and built from 1881 to 1902 by W Macfarlane. It is also known as South Brisbane School of Arts, South Brisbane Mechanics Institute, South Brisbane Technical College, and South Brisbane Post & Telegraph Office. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 21 October 1992. It now houses the Griffith University Film School, which forms part of the Queensland College of Art. Peter Hegedüs (born 21 August 1976) is a Hungarian/Australian writer, director and producer of both documentary and fiction films. He is also the grandson of the former Prime Minister of Hungary, András Hegedüs. Hegedüs' work explores critical social justice issues. His most recent film, ''Sorella's Story,'' was selected to screen at the Venice International Film Festival. Early life Peter Hegedüs was born in Budapest, Hungary and moved with his mother and his sister to Brisbane, Australia in 1991. In 1995, Hegedüs was accepted into the film program at the Queensland College of Art.
