Griffin Colapinto
Griffin Colapinto (born July 29, 1998, in Mission Viejo, California) is an American professional surfer. In 2017, Colapinto won the prestigious Vans Triple Crown of Surfing event. That same year, he also won the Men's Qualifying Series and qualified for the World Surf League The World Surf League (WSL) is the governing body for professional surfers and is dedicated to showcasing the world's best talent in a variety of progressive formats. Peniche () is a seaside municipality and a city located in the Leiria District of Central Portugal. It has 26,431 inhabitants, in an area of 77.55 km2. The city itself has a population of about 15,600 inhabitants. Supertubos
Supertubos (Portuguese for ''Supertubes'') is a wave and beach located in Peniche, Portugal. The break is the site of the MEO Pro Portugal from the World Surf League Men's and Women's Championship Tour event. The wave did not come into mainstream international spotlight until the Rip Curl Pro Search Event in 2009. It has been qualified as having 'Totally Epic' quality as a wave. Major surfing competitions The beach hosts every year the MEO Rip Curl Pro Portugal, a professional surfing competition, from the World Surf League Men's and Women's Championship Tour. On the tour calendar, this is one out of two European competitions and the tenth out of eleven competitions overall. The 2022 World Surf League is the 45th season of all iterations of the tour circuit for professional surfers. Billabong Pipe Masters will be the first round of the tour. For the second time, the season will end at Lower Trestles, in San Clemente, USA, with the top five seeded men and women from the season going head to head to determine the champion at the WSL Finals. Vans Triple Crown Of Surfing
The Triple Crown of Surfing is a Hawaii a specialty series of professional surfing events that have been held annually since 1983 on the North Shore of Oahu, a coastline whose winter swells can reach in height. The Triple Crown was founded by former World Champion (1968) Fred Hemmings, and Randy Rarick, who produced the Triple Crown events. The Series came under Vans' ownership in 1998. The three venues of Haleiwa, Sunset, and Pipeline are the last three major events of the professional surfing season; the Pipe Masters being the final event of the World Surf League Championship Tour up until 2020 when it became the first event of the 2020-21 wraparound season in December 2020.
