Griefshire
''Griefshire'' is the third album by the gothic metal band Elis. It's their first concept album, and the last before Sabine Dünser's death. Because Sabine Dünser was the creator of the concept of ''Griefshire'' and the main songwriter of the songs on it, the other members decided, after her death, to release ''Griefshire'' in her memory. Concept The story of the album features the following characters: The Narrator's Mother (a wise and benevolent witch-style woman that dedicated her entire life to guide people in their ways to redemption), The Narrator (the younger brother, permanently handicapped since birth, a very intelligent man that constantly deals with his inner doubts), The Narrator's Brother (the older brother, with an impressive skill to be a leader, but he corrupts all the villagers to make them follow him as a sect leader), The Narrator's Daughter (a young girl that inherited the wisdom and skills from her grandmother and was raised by her father to use her powers ... The band temporarily split up in February 2012 after lead singer Simone Christinat's departure. However, a month later, the band began doing a search for Christinat's replacement and the search was successful. Elis has since "disbanded" in order to form a new group called Zirkonium, with Swiss singer Kathrin Schlumpf as their lead vocalist. History ''God's Silence, Devil's Temptation'' Elis began their musical career under the name 'Erben der Schöpfung' in 2000. In 2001, they released their first single "Elis" as well as their debut album ''Twilight''. Catharsis (Elis Album)
''Catharsis'' is the fourth and final studio album by Elis, released on 27 November 2009 by Napalm Records. It is the first and only album with Sandra Schleret (ex-Dreams of Sanity, Siegfried) as their new lead singer after Sabine Dünser's death; the band released in early 2007 the MCD "Show Me The Way". Background After touring throughout 2007 and 2008, the band announced that they had entered the studio to record their fourth studio album, the follow-up to their 2006 release, ''Griefshire''. They spent the rest of 2008 and a part of 2009 recording the new album. After the sudden death of Elis' original singer Sabine Dünser, the band decided to continue her musical ideas. The album was released in late 2009 on Napalm Records, being the first full release with new singer Sandra Schleret, known from Dreams of Sanity and Siegfried. Alexander Krull
Alexander Krull (born 31 July 1970) is a German musician who is the lead vocalist for metal band Atrocity, as well as backing vocalist in the band Leaves' Eyes. Biography Krull was born in Ludwigsburg, where he formed Atrocity in 1985. He has also worked as a music producer for Elis, Leaves' Eyes, and Erben der Schöpfung. He uses the Mastersound Studio for his recording work with the bands. Personal life Krull was married to Liv Kristine of the Norwegian gothic metal band Theatre of Tragedy on 3 July 2003. Napalm is an incendiary mixture of a gelling agent and a volatile petrochemical (usually gasoline (petrol) or diesel fuel). The name is a portmanteau of two of the constituents of the original thickening and gelling agents: coprecipitated aluminium salts of naphthenic acid and palmitic acid. Ronnie James Dio
Ronald James Padavona (July 10, 1942 – May 16, 2010), known professionally as Ronnie James Dio, was an American heavy metal singer. He fronted and founded numerous bands throughout his career, including Elf, Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Dio and Heaven & Hell. Though his parents were from Cortland, New York, Dio was born in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, where his family resided for his father's service in the U.S. Army during World War II. The family returned to Cortland when Dio was very young, and he lived there until graduating high school in 1960. Dio's music career began in 1957 as part of the Vegas Kings (later Ronnie and the Rumblers). In 1967, he formed the rock band Elf, which became a regular opening act for Deep Purple. The bass guitar, electric bass or simply bass (), is the lowest-pitched member of the string family. It is a plucked string instrument similar in appearance and construction to an electric or an acoustic guitar, but with a longer neck and scale length, and typically four to six strings or courses. Guitar
The guitar is a fretted musical instrument that typically has six strings. It is usually held flat against the player's body and played by strumming or plucking the strings with the dominant hand, while simultaneously pressing selected strings against frets with the fingers of the opposite hand.
