Greyfields
Greyfield land is underused real estate assets or land. The term was first coined in the UK in urban design theory in the late 1990s, and later adopted in the US about a decade later, with the name coming from the "sea" of empty asphalt concrete that often accompanies these sites. The word ''greyfield'' is a relative neologism as compared to more commonly known terms such as '' Brownfield land, brownfield'' and '' greenfield''. In the UK, the term applies specifically to buildings and land in towns and cities that is underused and could be intensified by the addition of rooftop developments (in the case of an existing building) or 'airspace' developments (above an existing carpark, for example). Unlike brownfield, which features actual or perceived levels of environmental contamination, greyfield typically does not require remediation in order to unlock value to an investor. Dead Mall
A dead mall (also known as a ghost mall, zombie mall, or abandoned mall) is a shopping mall with a high vacancy rate or a low consumer traffic level, or that is deteriorating in some manner. Many malls in North America are considered "dead" (for the purposes of leasing) when they have no surviving anchor store or successor that could attract people to the mall. Without the pedestrian traffic that department stores previously generated, sales volumes decline for almost all stores and rental revenues from those stores can no longer sustain the costly maintenance of the malls. Without good pedestrian access, smaller stores inside malls are difficult to reach. Kalamazoo ( ) is a city in the southwest region of the U.S. state of Michigan. It is the county seat of Kalamazoo County. At the 2010 census, Kalamazoo had a population of 74,262. Winter Park is a city in Orange County, Florida, United States. The population was 30,183 according to the 2022 census population estimate. Mizner Park is a high-end shopping, residential, and entertainment district located in the affluent downtown neighborhood of Boca Raton, FL. The district consists of a collection of high-end shops and restaurants with luxury apartments built in a Mediterranean Revival architectural style.
