Margretta Bowen, best known as Gretta Bowen (1 January 1880 – 8 April 1981) was a self-taught Irish artist. She only started painting late in life, after her sons Arthur and George Campbell were already established as artists. Gretta Chambers (''née'' Taylor; January 15, 1927 – September 9, 2017) was a Canadian journalist and former Chancellor of McGill University. Life and career Chambers grew up in Outremont and attended Miss Edgar's and Miss Cramp's School and Netherwood School. She received a BA in political science from McGill University in 1947. She worked in radio and television and wrote for several newspapers and magazines. From 1966 until 1980, she was the host of the weekly CBC radio show called ''The Province in Print''. From 1977 to 2002, she had a weekly column in the Montreal Gazette. Gretta Cohn is a cellist who is best known for playing cello in the rock group Cursive from 2001-2005. She left the group in August 2005. Her departure was announced on the Cursive website in late August: Cursive regrets to announce the departure of cellist Gretta Cohn. After four years in the band, Gretta has decided to leave Omaha to pursue other interests and projects, including a potential solo album. The split is very amicable: the band wishes her well and she in turn eagerly anticipates the new Cursive material to come. Cursive will not be seeking a replacement. Gretta Duisenberg-Nieuwenhuizen (born 6 November 1942) is a Dutch pro-Palestinian political activist. She is the widow of Dutch Labour Party (PvdA) politician Wim Duisenberg who was also the first president of the European Central Bank (ECB). Duisenberg was born as Greetje Nieuwenhuizen into a strict Protestant family in Heerenveen, Friesland. She later studied nursing. Gretta Kehoe-Quigley is a former camogie player, captain of the All Ireland Camogie Championship winning team in 1975, the day after she was married to Ray Quigley, the trainer of her club camogie team. Career She made her debut with the Wexford junior team in 1969 and played in the 1972 All Ireland final. She made her senior debut in the 1972 Leinster championship, in which Wexford were narrowly beaten 6-4 to 5–6 in the final by Kilkenny. She won a Leinster senior championship medal in 1974. Gretta Sarfaty, born Alegre Sarfaty, is also known as Gretta Grzywacz and Greta Sarfaty Marchant, also simply as Gretta. is a painter, photographer and multimedia artist who earned international acclaim in the 1970s, from her artistic works related to Body art and Feminism. Born in Greece, in 1947, she moved with her family to São Paulo in 1954, being naturalized as Brazilian. Gretta Taslakian (born 16 August 1985) is a Lebanese sprinter of Armenian descent who specializes in the 200 metres. She is the first Lebanese woman to participate in two and three Olympic Games. Gretta is the current Lebanese national record holder in the outdoor 100 meters, 200 meters and 400 meters and indoor 60 meters and 200 meters. She was also a member of the record holding team in the outdoor 4x100 meter relay and 4x400 meter relay. Biography She was born in Ghadir, Lebanon, to Lebanese-Armenian parents.
