Grenaa Station
Grenaa station ( da, Grenaa Banegård) is a railway station serving the town and seaport of Grenaa on the Djursland peninsula in East Jutland, Denmark. The station is the northeastern terminus of the Grenaa railway line from Aarhus to Grenaa. The station opened in 1876 with the opening of the Randers-Ryomgaard-Grenaa Line. Since 2019, the station has been served by the Aarhus light rail system, a tram-train network combining tram lines in the city of Aarhus with operation on railway lines in the surrounding countryside. History The station opened on 26 August 1876 as the railway company Østjyske Jernbane (ØJJ) opened the railway line Randers-Ryomgaard-Grenaa from Randers to Grenaa. Aarhus Commuter Rail
Aarhus Commuter Rail ( da, Aarhus Nærbane) was a commuter rail service in and near Aarhus, Denmark. There was one line, from Odder to Grenaa, with 33 stations. This traffic concept started in 2012, when the traffic on the two local railways Odderbanen and Grenaabanen was combined into one line, with new rolling stock. The rolling stock was Siemens Desiro diesel multiple units. The line closed in August 2016 for electrification and conversion to light rail service. From 2017 both railways will be defined as light rail, and be equipped with electric power supply. Also, a new city tramway has been built in central Aarhus. New trams will be used for this. Odder
Odder is a town in Jutland, Denmark. The town is the seat of Odder municipality, and is the biggest town in the municipality. It is located 20 km south of Aarhus and 16 km south-east of Skanderborg. Odder is part of Business Region Aarhus, and the East Jutland metropolitan area, and is served by the Odder Line since the line's construction in August 2018. DSB, an abbreviation of ''Danske Statsbaner'' (, ''Danish State Railways''), is the largest Danish train operating company, and the largest in Scandinavia. Ryomgård
Ryomgård is a Danish country town with a population of 2,498 (1 January 2022) located 29 kilometers north east of to the country’s second largest city Aarhus. As such Ryomgård is in part a pendler town to Aarhus. Ryomgård lies in the middle of the peninsula, Djursland, protruding into the Kattegat Sea from another peninsula, Jutland, that extends up from northern Germany. It’s a 216 kilometer drive to the German border. From Ryomgård it’s a two and a half hour drive by car and ferry to the Danish capital Copenhagen on the island of Zealand.
