Gregorio Salvador Caja (11 July 1927 – 26 December 2020) was a Spanish linguist specialized in structural semantics. Salvador was born in Cúllar, Granada, and studied at the University of Granada and Complutense University. He was one of the most important disciples of Manuel Alvar. He wrote for the Spanish newspaper ABC. Manuel Seco
Manuel Seco Reymundo (20 September 1928 – 16 December 2021) was a Spanish lexicographer, linguist and philologist. He worked at the department of lexicography of the Real Academia Española between 1962 and 1993. He became a member of the Academia in 1980. Career Seco was born on 20 September 1928 in Madrid, Spain. His father was Rafael Seco y Sánchez (1895–1933) and his mother Carmen Reymundo Mariño. He obtained a degree in philology of the Romance languages at the Central University of Madrid in 1952. He was awarded a further doctorate with the same specialization in 1969, also from the Central University. In 1960 he started as a professor of Spanish language and literature at various educational facilities. Two years later he took up a position at the lexicography department of the Real Academia Española, to which he was invited by Rafael Lapesa. Seco worked at the department for 31 years. José Antonio Pascual Rodríguez (born 29 March 1942, Monleras, Salamanca) is a linguist and professor of the Spanish language at Charles III University of Madrid, and a member of the Royal Spanish Academy and ''Accademia della Crusca'', the regulatory institutions of standard Spanish and Italian, respectively. ''ABC'' () is a Spanish national daily newspaper. It is the second largest general-interest newspaper in Spain, number one in Madrid, and the oldest newspaper still operating in Madrid. Manuel Alvar
Manuel Alvar (July 8, 1923 - August 13, 2001) was a Spanish linguist, historian, and university professor who specialized in the study of dialectology and philology of the Spanish language. Throughout his career, Alvar oversaw and influenced the creation of many Spanish linguistic atlases; maps which recorded speech variations in a given geographical area. He served as Director of the Real Academia Española for four years and was a member of language academies throughout Europe and Latin America. Early life and education Manuel Alvar was born on July 8, 1923, in Benicarló, Castellón de la Plana, Spain. He began his studies at the Universidad de Zaragoza, where he was a student of José Manuel Blecua, a renowned Spanish philologist.
