Gregor Von Bochmann The Younger
Gregor von Bochmann (23 September 1878, Düsseldorf – 20 September 1914, near Laon) was a German sculptor. He is usually referred to as The Younger to distinguish him from his father. Life and work He was born to the painter, Gregor von Bochmann, and his wife Emilie, daughter of the industrialist, . He studied at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf with the sculptor, Karl Janssen. In 1905, he married Marianne Feddersen, daughter of the landscape painter, . Around 1907, he moved into one of the studios belonging to August Bauer, on the Grafenberger Allee. He eventually established his own studio on the Kurfürstenstraße. Gregor Von Bochmann (The Younger)
Gregor von Bochmann (1 June 1850, Nehatu, Lääne County, Nehatu, Kreis Wiek, Governorate of Estonia – 12 February 1930, Hösel, near Düsseldorf) was a Baltic-German landscape and Genre art, genre painter. Biography His father was a forest warden for the Governorate of Estonia, who had been ennobled due to his service in the Crimean War. Bochmann frequently travelled around the country with him, developing his ability to observe nature. From 1862 to 1868, he studied at the Gustav Adolf Grammar School in Tallinn, where his art teacher, Theodor Albert Sprengel, recognized his talent and obtained a scholarship for him to study at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. After studying drawing and antiquities, he attended the landscape class of Oswald Achenbach and, after graduation in 1871, established his own studios nearby. Frisia
Frisia is a cross-border cultural region in Northwestern Europe. Stretching along the Wadden Sea, it encompasses the north of the Netherlands and parts of northwestern Germany. Oberkassel ( li, Ueverkassel) is a part of Düsseldorf's Borough 4. Oberkassel lies on the west side of the river Rhine, the opposite side of the central district of Düsseldorf. Alte Kunsthalle (Düsseldorf)
Alte is a village and civil parish in the municipality of Loulé, in the Algarve region in the south of Portugal. The population in 2011 was 1,997, in an area of 94.33 km². Situated away from the coast, Alte is known as one of the most typical and unspoilt villages in the region of the Algarve. The village contains Algarve style whitewashed houses, traditional chimneys, and cobbled alleys. The Portuguese poet Cândido Guerreiro was born in Alte, in 1871.
