Greg Orloff is an American film sound mixer. He has won an Academy Award for Best Sound and has been nominated for another three in the same category. He has won a British Academy Award (BAFTA) and has been nominated for another three in the same category. He has won two Cinema Audio Society awards and has been nominated another six times. He has also been nominated for six Emmy Awards. He is known for his frequent collaborations with The Coen Brothers and Adam Sandler. He has worked on over 200 films since 1979. The Academy Award for Best Sound is an Academy Award that recognizes the finest or most euphonic sound mixing, recording, sound design, and sound editing. The award used to go to the studio sound departments until a rule change in 1969 said it should be awarded to the specific technicians. John Orloff
John Orloff is an American screenwriter. Early life Orloff was born in Los Angeles, California, where he was raised in a "Hollywood" family. His father, also named John Orloff, was a TV commercial director. His grandmother was B-movie actress Peggy Knudsen, and his great-grandparents were the real-life married couple of Fibber McGee and Molly, stars of TV and radio. Orloff studied screenwriting at the University of California, Los Angeles Film School, and on graduation went to work in the advertising business. Career After ten years working on TV commercials in various positions, he met a TV movie development executive, now his wife, from the HBO television network.
