Greg Marshall (defensive Lineman)
Gregory Edward Marshall (born September 9, 1956) is the head coach for the University of Toronto Varsity Blues football team (OUA). He played professionally as a defensive end for the Ottawa Rough Riders for nine years where he was named the league's Most Outstanding Defensive Player in 1983. Playing career Marshall played college football with the Oregon State Beavers as a defensive tackle. He was drafted in the seventh round of the 1978 NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles, but ended up playing in two games for the Baltimore Colts that season. Marshall later played in the CFL for nine seasons as a defensive end for the Ottawa Rough Riders. 2018 U Sports Football Season
The 2018 U Sports football season began on August 24, 2018 with the St. Francis Xavier X-Men visiting the Saint Mary's Huskies in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The Quebec Student Sport Federation teams played an hour later with the Laval Rouge et Or visiting the Sherbrooke Vert et Or and the McGill Redmen playing the Montreal Carabins. The Ontario University Athletics teams began play on August 25, 2018 and the Canada West teams opened their season one week later on August 31, 2018. The Empire Football League (EFL) is a semi-professional American football league with franchises based primarily in New York State. The league was established in 1969. The 1978 NFL draft was the procedure by which National Football League teams selected amateur college football players. It is officially known as the NFL Annual Player Selection Meeting. Defensive Tackle
A defensive tackle (DT) is a position in American football that will typically line up on the line of scrimmage, opposite one of the offensive guards, however he may also line up opposite one of the tackles. Defensive tackles are typically the largest and strongest of the defensive players. Depending on a team's individual defensive scheme, a defensive tackle may be called upon to fill several different roles. These roles may include merely holding the point of attack by refusing to be moved, or penetrating a certain gap between offensive linemen to break up a play in the opponent's backfield. If a defensive tackle reads a pass play, his primary responsibility is to pursue the quarterback, or simply knock the pass down at the line if it is within arm's reach. The 1983 CFL season is considered to be the 30th season in modern-day Canadian football, although it is officially the 26th Canadian Football League season. Defensive End
Defensive end (DE) is a defensive position in the sport of gridiron football. This position has designated the players at each end of the defensive line, but changes in formations over the years have substantially changed how the position is played. History Early formations, with six- and seven-man lines, used the end as a containment player, whose job was first to prevent an "end run" around his position, then secondarily to force plays inside.
