Greg Cromer
George Gregory Cromer (born June 26, 1958), is an American politician, currently serving as the mayor of Slidell, Louisiana. A Republican, he previously served as a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives from 2008 to 2018. Education In 1981, Cromer graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial management technology from Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond. Career After graduating from college, Cromer was employed in New Orleans by Lockheed Martin at the Michoud Assembly Facility of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. Formerly, he was the District G city council member in Slidell, Louisiana. Cromer was elected to the House when the term-limited Matthew Peter Schneider ran unsuccessfully for the Louisiana State Senate. Slidell is a city on the northeast shore of Lake Pontchartrain in St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana, United States. The population was 28,781 at the 2020 census. It is part of the New Orleans− Metairie−Kenner metropolitan statistical area. History Beginning One of the earlier settlers to the area was Foster Willie. Along with a younger brother, Wesley Coke Asbury Gause, Judge Wingate, and several others, he left Shallotte, North Carolina, on February 18, and arrived at Pearlington, Mississippi, on April 14, 1836. Wesley and his family remained there, while John and family crossed the Pearl River and built a log cabin on the west bank, a little further south. He then began a lumber mill in the fledgling town later known as Slidell. The points of the compass are a set of horizontal, radially arrayed compass directions (or azimuths) used in navigation and cartography. The Louisiana House of Representatives (french: link=no, Chambre des Représentants de Louisiane) is the lower house in the Louisiana State Legislature, the state legislature of the U.S. state of Louisiana. This chamber is composed of 105 representatives, each of whom represents approximately 42,500 people (2000 figures). Members serve four-year terms with a term limit of three terms (twelve years). Pete Schneider (Louisiana Politician)
Peter Joseph Schneider (August 20, 1895 – June 1, 1957) was an American pitcher in Major League Baseball who played for the Cincinnati Reds (1914–1918) and New York Yankees (1919). Schneider batted and threw right-handed. Career Born in Los Angeles, California, Schneider was a hard-throwing pitcher who struggled with injuries and control problems. At age 18, he made a promising debut with the Cincinnati Reds in 1914, pitching a 1–0 shutout against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Despite a 5–14 mark in his rookie season he finished with a 2.92 earned run average. He recorded 14 wins in 1915 while posting a 2.48 ERA but led all National League pitchers with 19 losses. His most productive season came in 1917 when he posted career-highs with 20 wins and innings pitched, but he lost 19 games for the third consecutive year.
