Gregory Robert Campbell (born 13 July 1965) is an English former association football, footballer who played as a Forward (association football), forward for West Ham United F.C., West Ham United, Brighton & Hove Albion F.C., Brighton & Hove Albion, Sparta Rotterdam, Plymouth Argyle F.C., Plymouth Argyle and Northampton Town F.C., Northampton Town. Simod Cup
The Full Members' Cup was an association football cup competition held in English football from 1985 to 1992. It was also known under its sponsored names of the Simod Cup from 1987 to 1989 and the Zenith Data Systems Cup from 1989 to 1992. The competition was created after the 1985 Heysel Stadium disaster, when English clubs were banned from European competition, as an additional competition for clubs in the top two English League divisions. The competition's name refers to the clubs that were Full Members of the Football League, with full voting rights; teams from the lower two divisions were Associate Members and were only eligible for the Associate Members' Cup (now known as the EFL Trophy). Robert George Campbell (23 April 1937 – 6 November 2015) was an English professional football player and later manager. Playing career He began his career with Liverpool, where he also won England Youth international caps. He then moved on to Portsmouth and later Aldershot. Coaching and managerial career After injury ended his career in 1966, he turned his hand to coaching, at Portsmouth and then, with greater success, at Queens Park Rangers. He went on to work under Bertie Mee at Arsenal as first-team coach, after Steve Burtenshaw's resignation and subsequent departure to Sheffield Wednesday in 1973. His first managerial job came at Fulham in 1976, after his former boss Alec Stock was sacked. Campbell made a poor start winning no games in his first 3 months as manager.
