Greg Adams (born 1970 in Muncie, Indiana, United States) is an American writer, who ran the independent reissue record label Beehive Rebellion Records, before writing for the AllMusic, penning liner notes for numerous reissue record labels and compiling greatest hits anthologies as an A&R coordinator. Beehive Rebellion issued two releases in the 1990s: a reissue of the New Zealand band Electric Blood's previously cassette-only album ''Electric Easter'' (featuring Robert Scott of The Bats) and a reissue of Sex Clark Five's ''Strum & Drum!'' that contained the band's complete self-released Records to Russia recordings. The latter was ranked by '' Goldmine'' magazine as one of the 50 best U.S. power pop albums of all time. An intended third release, a reissue of the Electric Blood cassettes ''Acoustic Splendour'' and ''Actual Stuff'', to be titled ''The Man Who Tasted Shapes'', never materialized. Robert Scott (musician)
Robert Scott is a New Zealand musician. He is a part of indie rock bands The Clean and The Bats, playing bass for The Clean, and guitar/vocals for The Bats, and writing songs for both. Other bands with which he has been involved include The Magick Heads, Electric Blood, Gina Rocco & the Rockettes, and Greg Franco & The Wandering Bear. Scott has also released several solo albums in several genres, including alternative rock, experimental instrumentals, and traditional folk music. Scott has also drawn or painted the cover art for many Flying Nun album sleeves. As of 2014, he had a day job as a teacher aide at Port Chalmers School at Port Chalmers. The Bats (New Zealand Band)
The Bats are an influential New Zealand rock band formed in 1982 in Christchurch by Paul Kean (bass), Malcolm Grant (drums), Robert Scott (lead vocals, rhythm guitar, keyboards) and Kaye Woodward (lead guitar, vocals). Though primarily a Christchurch band, The Bats have strong links to Dunedin and are usually grouped in with the Dunedin sound musicians that emerged in the early 1980s. Sex Clark Five
Sex Clark Five (abbreviated SC5) is an underground indie rock band formed in the early 1980s in Huntsville, Alabama. Calling their inventive, sawed-off power pop songs "strum and drum" (a pun on Sturm und Drang), SC5 released several albums that featured the jangly Rickenbacker guitar sound characteristic of Southern college rock bands of the time, including R.E.M. Guitarists James Butler and Rick Storey and drummer Trick McKaha were all friends from Huntsville High School. After stints in Kinks cover and pseudo punk bands, the three recruited bassist Joy Johnson. Primary singer/songwriter Butler built quirky, catchy melodic hooks around lyrics that often included offbeat European historical references, and wrapped them around rapidly strummed guitars and rave up surf guitar riffs. ''Goldmine'', established in September 1974 by Brian Bukantis out of Fraser, Michigan, is an American magazine that focuses on the collectors' market for records, tapes, CDs, and music-related memorabilia. Each issue features news articles, interviews, discographies, histories, current reviews on recording stars of the past and present. Discographies are included, listing all known releases. Coverage includes rock, blues, soul, Americana, folk, new wave, punk and heavy metal. At one point its chief competitor was ''DISCoveries'' (with more of an emphasis on 1950s oldies), which later was purchased by the same owner before folding into it as a single publication. Eric Records is an American record company that produced singles from 1968 to 1996 mainly with reissues of successful oldies, continuing today with compact disc compilations. History Eric Records was founded in 1968 by Bill Buster in Philadelphia with the intention to re-release old songs of popular pop music in the original version as heard on the radio. He started with the Paris Sisters, of which he brought their successful titles ''I Love How You Love Me'' and ''He Know's I Love Him Too Much'' of 1961 and 1962 to the market. As a result, Buster published a series of evergreens and lesser-known titles. WFHB 91.3 FM is a community radio FM station in Bloomington, Indiana, United States. The station has three translators serving southern Indiana: 98.1 in Bloomington, 100.7 in Nashville and 106.3 in Ellettsville. WFHB has a small paid staff and over 150 volunteers, who perform a range of duties, from office administration to music and news programming. Georgia Gibbs (born Frieda Lipschitz; August 17, 1918December 9, 2006) was an American popular singer and vocal entertainer rooted in jazz.
