Dora Greenwell
Dora Greenwell (6 December 1821 – 29 March 1882) was an English poet. The name "Dora Greenwell" was for many years supposed to be the pseudonym of a writer of rare spiritual insight and fine poetic genius. It was very generally surmised that she was a member of the Society of Friends; and there was much ground for this supposition. As time wore on, and book followed book, some of the facts of her personal history became known and were occasionally referred to in the public press. But for a very long period little was really known of her actual life, and many mistakes gained currency. Her poem, "I Am Not Skilled to Understand" was set to music by William J. Kirkpatrick. A contemporary version of it, "My Savior My God", is a 2006 radio single by contemporary Christian musician, Aaron Shust, from his album, ''Anything Worth Saying''. Joseph Greenwell CBE, DL (born 8 May 1951) is a British business executive. He was educated at Purbrook Grammar School and at the University of East Anglia (BA, English and American Literature). He served as chairman and CEO of Jaguar Land Rover from 2003 to 2005 and Chairman of Ford UK from 2009 to 2013. He was appointed a CBE in the Queen's birthday honours 2011. In June 2013 he was appointed head of the UK's Automotive Investment Organisation, a position he held until 2015. The Greenwell Glacier is a major tributary glacier, long, draining northwest between the Mirabito Range and the Everett Range to enter Lillie Glacier below Mount Works, in northwest Victoria Land, Antarctica. This geographical feature was first mapped by the United States Geological Survey from surveys and from U.S. Navy aerial photography, 1960–63, and was so named by the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names for Commander Martin D. William Greenwell
Canon William Greenwell, (23 March 1820 – 27 January 1918) was an English archaeologist and Church of England priest. Early life William Greenwell was born 23 March 1820 at the estate known as Greenwell Ford near Lanchester, County Durham, England. He was the eldest son of William Thomas Greenwell (1777–1856) and Dorothy Smales. He had three brothers Francis, Alan, and Henry Nicholas Greenwell, and a sister Dorothy (1821–1882) who published poetry under the name Dora Greenwell. After an early education by Rev George Newby, he attended Durham School. One of his schoolmates was Henry Baker Tristram. He matriculated at University College, Durham in October 1836 and graduated Bachelor of Arts (BA) in June 1839. He started training to be a barrister at Middle Temple, but owing to ill health decided to leave London and return to University College in 1841, completing a licentiate in Theology in 1842. Thomas Frederick Greenwell (August 6, 1956 – July 15, 2013) was a judge of the Texas 319th District Court based in Corpus Christi in Nueces County, Texas. The first Republican to serve on the 319th court, Greenwell was first elected in 2002 and reelected in 2006 and 2010. Legal career In 1981, Greenwell graduated from the University of Texas School of Law. In 1978, he received his Bachelor of Arts with concentration in political science and journalism from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. In 1981, he was appointed a staff attorney on the Texas 13th Court of Appeals. He was chief of the legal staff on that court from 1991 to 1996. From 1997 until 2002, he was in private practice.
