Greenfield, also known as Petrolia, is a residential neighbourhood located in southwest Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. While the official name of the neighbourhood is Greenfield, some residents will refer to the area as Petrolia. There is a small shopping centre, Petrolia Shopping Centre, located in the neighbourhood. The neighbourhood was named for Herbert Greenfield, the Premier of Alberta from 1921 to 1925, during the reign of the United Farmers of Alberta political party. The neighbourhood is bounded on the east by 111 Street, on the west by 119 Street, on the north by 40 Avenue, and on the south by 34 Avenue. The majority of residential construction in the neighbourhood occurred between 1960 and 1980, with roughly three out of four residences (77.0%) being constructed during the 1960s and another one in five residences (20.6%) being constructed during the 1970s. Greenfield is a city in and the county seat of Franklin County, Massachusetts, United States. Greenfield was first settled in 1686. The population was 17,768 at the 2020 census. Greenfield is home to Greenfield Community College, the Pioneer Valley Symphony Orchestra, and the Franklin County Fair. The city has a Main Street Historic District containing fine examples of Federal, Greek Revival, and Victorian architecture. Greenfield, also known as the David Chenault Home, is a historic farmhouse in Castalian Springs, Tennessee, U.S.. The house was built in 1840 by John Fontville, who also built the James B. Jameson House and Oakland in Gallatin. David Chenault, the original owner, was the son of a French immigrant; he lived here with his wife Louisa Quisenberry and their children. Chenault later purchased the Brown-Chenault House, and the Chenaults lived on both farms. Greenfield was inherited by their son Milton in 1883, and it remained in the Chenault family until 1913. Greenfield is a neighborhood in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States. It is represented on Pittsburgh City Council by Corey O'Connor. Greenfield is a member of Pittsburgh's 15th Ward, which includes the neighborhoods of Greenfield and Four Mile Run. Greenfield is adjacent to the Pittsburgh neighborhoods of Hazelwood to the south, Oakland and Schenley Park to the north, and Squirrel Hill to the east. Greenfield is a town in Blaine County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 93 at the 2010 census. History The 80 original acres of Greenfield began as the homestead in 1899 of one George Evans. Somewhere in the 1900-1902 timeframe, the Choctaw Northern Railroad built through the area, its line running from Geary, Oklahoma to its termination at Anthony, Kansas. The railroad bought the farm from then-owners T.G. Curtner and J.M. Gray, proceeding to plat the town and sell lots. By 1913, the town had about 300 inhabitants, a newspaper (The Greenfield Hustler), a bank, a lumberyard, two livery barns, two grain elevators, a grist mill, a hotel, an opera house, and various merchants and contractors. Greenfield is a large village in Highland and Ross counties, Ohio, United States. As of the 2010 census, the population was 4,639. Since the population declined to under 5,000, the Census Bureau may still call it a city, but by Ohio's laws it is technically deemed a village. Greenfield is most well known because of its rich history, including its community members helping in the underground railroad, new industries, and McClain High School. History Greenfield was named for its rural appearance. General Duncan McArthur founded the town in 1799. Greenfield has had many innovators, such as Edward Lee McClain who was well known for his detachable horse collar. The American Pad and Textile Company was created by McClain later in life. This company provided job opportunities for Greenfield, and created products such as the life vest used in World War II. Greenfield Plantation is a historic plantation house located near Somer, near Edenton, Chowan County, North Carolina. It was built about 1752, and is a two-story, five-bay-by-two-bay, T-shaped Georgian-style frame dwelling. It features a full-width, double porch. Greenfield is home to the Crotched Mountain Rehabilitation Center, to Greenfield State Park, and to part of the Wapack Trail. History Originally known as " Lyndeborough Addition", the area was first settled by the Lynde family in 1753.
