Green Road Railway Station
Green Road is a railway station on the Cumbrian Coast Line, which runs between and . The station, situated north-west of Barrow-in-Furness, serves the civil parish of Millom Without in Cumbria. It is owned by Network Rail and managed by Northern Trains. Green Road has been adopted since 1981 and is currently a member of Northern Trains' station adoption scheme. The station has won a number of awards for its gardens. Facilities The station is not staffed but has now been provided with a ticket vending machine (card only) to allow intending travellers to buy tickets before boarding. The brick main building is not in public use, but there are waiting shelters on each side. Step-free access to both platforms is via ramps from the road that crosses the railway here (the automated level crossing is immediately to the south of the station). Green Road station is a tram station, station on the Green Line (Cleveland), Green Line of the RTA Rapid Transit in Shaker Heights, Ohio, located in the median of Shaker Boulevard (Ohio State Route 87) at its intersection with Green Road, after which the station is named. It is the eastern terminus of the Green Line. History When Shaker Boulevard east of Warrensville Center Road was laid out by the Van Sweringen brothers in the 1920s, it included a broad median strip with room for four rapid transit tracks as well as a high-speed automobile parkway. The rapid transit right-of-way extended along Shaker Boulevard to Brainard Road and from there along Gates Mills Boulevard all the way to near U.S. Route 322, Mayfield Road, where it ended in a large loop suitable for use as a streetcar yard.
