"Green Grass of Tunnel" is a song by experimental Icelandic musical group múm, released prior to their 2002 album '' Finally We Are No One'' as a single. The song was covered by British Sea Power on their 2005 single " It Ended on an Oily Stage". Pitchfork Media listed it 484th on its countdown of the Top 500 tracks of the 2000s. Music video The music video was created in computer graphics by Semiconductor's Joe Gerhardt and Ruth Jarman. It follows the view of a flock of birds, and presents a lighthouse, presumably very similar to the house in which they stayed. Brad Osborn has noted how the craggy, icy peaks depicted in the video are linked to the pentatonic leaps in the lead vocal melody, and also to the cold, metallic timbres used in the recording. Múm
Múm (stylized in lowercase) () is an Icelandic indietronica band whose music is characterized by soft vocals, electronic glitch beats and effects, and a variety of traditional and unconventional instruments. History The band was formed in 1997 by original members Gunnar Örn Tynes and Örvar Þóreyjarson Smárason, who were joined by twin sisters Gyða and Kristín Anna Valtýsdóttir. According to Kristín, the band's name was not intended to mean anything. Gyða left the band to return to her studies after the release of ''Finally We Are No One''. In early 2006, Kristín also left the band, although it was not officially announced until 23 November of that year. ''Finally We Are No One'' is the second studio album by Icelandic band Múm. It was released on 20 May 2002 by FatCat Records. In Iceland, the Smekkleysa label released ''Loksins erum við engin'', a limited edition of ''Finally We Are No One'' featuring alternate versions of the album's songs recorded in the Icelandic language. Production Múm worked on ''Finally We Are No One'' in Galtarviti, a lighthouse in the Westfjords. Inside the lighthouse, the band composed songs for the album, which they subsequently recorded in a studio. A flock is a gathering of individual birds to forage or travel collectively. Avian flocks are typically associated with migration. Flocking also offers foraging benefits and protection from predators, although flocking can have costs for individual members.
