Greek Basketball Cup MVP
The Greek Basketball Cup MVP, or Greek Basketball Cup Finals MVP, is an annual award that is given to the most valuable player of the Greek Basketball Cup, which is the top-tier national domestic professional men's basketball cup competition in the country of Greece. The Greek Basketball Cup is contested between teams from the 1st-tier level Greek Basket League, the 2nd-tier level Greek A2 Basket League, and the third-tier level Greek B Basket League. In team sports, a most valuable player award, abbreviated 'MVP award', is an honor typically bestowed upon an individual (or individuals, in the instance of a tie) whose individual performance is the greatest in an entire league, for a particular competition, or on a specific team. The purpose of the award is recognize the contribution of the individual's efforts amongst a group effort, and to highlight the excellence, exemplariness, and/or outstandingness of a player's performance amidst the performance of their peers in question. The term can have different connotations depending on the context in which it is used. A 'League MVP' is the most valuable player in an entire league, and refers to the player whose performance is most excellent in the league. Nikolaos "Nikos" Stavropoulos (Greek: Νικόλαος "Νίκος" Σταυρόπουλος; born June 17, 1959), Professor Nicholas "Magic" Stavropoulos, is a former Greek professional basketball player and coach. Not to be confused with David Foote Rivers David Lee Rivers (born January 20, 1965) is an American former professional basketball player and coach. A 6'2" (1.88 m ) tall point guard, he reached star status in the EuroLeague, mainly while playing with Olympiacos, under head coach Dušan Ivković. Rivers played 3 seasons in the NBA, one with the Los Angeles Lakers (1988–89) and two more with the Los Angeles Clippers (1989–90, 1991–92). Harold Ellis (born October 7, 1970) is a retired American professional basketball player. A 6'5" (1.96 m) shooting guard from Morehouse College, Ellis was never drafted by a National Basketball Association team but did manage to play in 3 NBA seasons. Professional career Following a two-season stint with the Quad City Thunder of the Continental Basketball Association, Ellis played for the Los Angeles Clippers from 1993 to 1995. He then moved to Europe and the Greek Basket League to play for Aris during the 1995–96 season, and Apollon Patras during the 1996–97 season. Kenneth Barlow (born September 20, 1964) is an American former professional basketball player. Barlow graduated from the University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, Indiana.
