Greece In The Eurovision Song Contest 2013
Greece participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 with the song "Alcohol Is Free", written by Elias Kozas and Stathis Pahidis. The song was performed by the band Koza Mostra featuring Agathonas Iakovidis. The entry for the 2013 contest, which took place in Malmö, Sweden, was selected through a four-participant national final entitled ''Eurosong 2013 – a MAD show''. Due to budget cuts facing the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation (ERT) at the time, the selection process was a organised by a private music channel, MAD TV. To promote the entry, a music video of "Alcohol Is Free" was released and the song was included in two versions on the band's debut studio album ''Keep up the Rhythm'', which was released prior to the contest taking place. Koza Mostra is a Greek rock band founded by Ilias Kozas in 2011. It consists of Ilias Kozas (vocals, classical and electric guitar), Stelios Tsompanidis (drums, backing vocals), Tasos Korkovelos (keyboards, backing vocals), Dimitris Christonis (bass guitar), Tasos Gentzis (saxophone, backing vocals) and Petros Lagontzos (electric guitar, backing vocals). Shake It (Sakis Rouvas Song)
"Shake It" is a song recorded by Greek singer Sakis Rouvas, written by Nikos Terzis and Nektarios Tirakis. It is best known as the entry at the Eurovision Song Contest 2004, in Istanbul. Background The song is an up-tempo number, fully in English language, with Rouvas telling his lover that "I would trade my life for a night with you" and asking the lover to "shake it" for him. The lyrics were somewhat controversial as it was thought to be about sex, with "shake it" referring to the wiggling movements of the male genitalia. Rouvas declined these claims. Despina Vandi - ΣΤΑ 'ΔΩΣΑ ΟΛΑΑ ( el, Δέσποινα Βανδή, ), born as Despina Malea () on 22 July 1969, is a Greek singer.
